It might have a benefit if you’re living in an area where your ISP gives other customers access to your (as in: the one they supplied to you) router’s wifi (on a separate network). ---

firstly, fuck any ISP who does this and seems like it’d be easier just to disconnect the antenna or put it in modem mode and use your own access point or better just put any old metal over it should work just as good but that kinda defeats the point of having wifi ---

The downside to using your own modem is that they could blame every fuck up on you and then you have to find and document proof that it’s their fault. ---
