What about different types of keys? Like for security doors. Is it as easy to get blanks of them as for normal keys?
ye you can get blanks for pretty much everything. its what locksmiths use to make the keys. all you need to know is the manufacture and get their bitting table and you can copy the keys from the picture. This is a very good talk that goes into how it all works. (some keys even have their bitting codes printed on the keys lol)

Sounds like something âinsidersâ would be able to do but usually not your average joe burglar. Iâm pretty sure locksmiths donât just sell blanks and even if you go there and say you want a copy of a key in some cases you need a) the signature of the tenant, b) a password and/or c) an ID.
Some have tiny magnets inlayed in them. Probably makes it more difficult.
3d print, make a mold, inlay magnets in correct spots, cast new key
Itâll take a little longer but itâs not that hard to do really.
Though a real burglar would either bypass the lock if possible, or just pick which isnât that hard if youâve practiced enough.
Locks are only there to keep honest people honest.

Or just use brute force. Some people here still use doors that are way too thinâŚand old, which means the wood isnât the strongest anymore. And just one tiny lock with a laughable locking bar.
What I meant by bypass was find away in that doesnât involve the lock. Be it brute force or another point of entry. Not the technical term of exploiting a flaw in the lock to avoid actually having to pick.

watch the talk if you want to know more but its seriously trivial to make and cut your own keys with very cheap and off the shelf equipment and its all about the type of entry your wanting to make. besides cutting keys is only good if you need covert entry into a building without leaving any evidence at all I.E of lockpicking or just smashing the lock.
