You know Intel is fucked in the consumer market when nobody recommends i5 anymore. Not even i3 for budget builds. For productivity in the consumer market Intel also gets bfto’d by Ryzen unless you need high single core performance (like 5Ghz with almost no effort OCing).
And in the server market too when data centers are switching to Threadripper.
You’d need to have a very niche use case to buy an Intel CPU nowadays.
