ye? think the channel dropping could be because of the modem and not your ISP?

already called them and everything look good on their end and considering i had new lines installed yesterday i dont think its a installation issue

Ye sounds about right. Docsis modems can be real tricky at times, could try and wrench the coax to made sure its tight on the modem as that can cause issues but honestly at this point its probably just better to replace it like you said.
