It might have a benefit if youâre living in an area where your ISP gives other customers access to your (as in: the one they supplied to you) routerâs wifi (on a separate network).
firstly, fuck any ISP who does this and seems like itâd be easier just to disconnect the antenna or put it in modem mode and use your own access point or better just put any old metal over it should work just as good but that kinda defeats the point of having wifi
If they let you do that. I have no idea how locked down their firmware is.
The downside to using your own modem is that they could blame every fuck up on you and then you have to find and document proof that itâs their fault.
so say its locked down and I canât disable it. whatâs stopping me from running Denial-of-service attack on the router from the inside whenever somebody connects to it
