Should somebody tell them about Ethernet or is the internet a better place if they can’t access it because of their stupidity?

OMG this is amazing

It might have a benefit if you’re living in an area where your ISP gives other customers access to your (as in: the one they supplied to you) router’s wifi (on a separate network).

firstly, fuck any ISP who does this and seems like it’d be easier just to disconnect the antenna or put it in modem mode and use your own access point or better just put any old metal over it should work just as good but that kinda defeats the point of having wifi

If they let you do that. I have no idea how locked down their firmware is.
The downside to using your own modem is that they could blame every fuck up on you and then you have to find and document proof that it’s their fault.

so say its locked down and I can’t disable it. what’s stopping me from running Denial-of-service attack on the router from the inside whenever somebody connects to it :smiling_imp:

Wouldn’t that fuck with your access too?

its about the principle lol

Then you might as well open it up and remove the wifi unit from the pcb.

Trump banned international travel for muslims. The travel ban due to the pandemic was put in place by other countries cause the US puts other countries at risk.
