Here it can take a new restaurant for example 6+ months to get a license to sell alcohol. ---

Sennheiser’s a bit of a mess except for the more expensive stuff. And it doesn’t mean that _more expensive_ means _better sound_. Apparently a lot of people don’t like the HD700, yet they cost ~$450. ---

It all depends on what type of sound your looking for with them i guess, but i bet that can be said of most audio gear ---

Those are still over $300 most of the time. Sure, you can go much higher (I think the Sennheiser Orpheus are the most expensive now, but they also come with their own tube amp), but $300 is still a lot for headphones - imo. ---

Makes sense regular amps and DACs electrically all they’re doing is boosting or converting a signal if they don’t that means the some kind of internal interference. ---

Tax news: Normally I’d file a 1040ez… However because I got income from Amazon for 1099 misc I can’t file a 1040ez. Slight hassle but not terrible. ---

True, but if the engineer/s designing them knows what they’re doing or care enough DACs and AMPs are pretty basic circuits ---

If I’m going to dump $300 at audio I’d rather put it towards speakers or DAC/Amp gear. For me buying something like AKG K240s with clean, balanced sound for relatively cheap and getting good audio gear to drive it well is more useful. I can get new headphones pretty easy/cheap but the other stuff not so much for quality gear ---

Which doesn’t mean cheap can’t sound good, but with cheap, easy to drive headphones you can get away with dac/amps that don’t cost $300. And sometimes more powerful amps can give you a hiss with low impedance headphones. ---
