neat so my Windows VM has had an issue where it would freeze during disk operations like due to emulation from virtio so I swapped my windows drives around and passed through the SATA controller and now have full performance of my disks. The VM now has its own GPU, USB/SATA controller and Ethernet card. its basically its own system at this point XD ---

The storage controller on Android devices really seems to be shit. Slow af and timing out after only a few minutes of transferring files. Speaking of Android: should there be a category on here for mobile devices? (phones, tablets, laptops, etc) Damn, that Xiaomi Mi A1 really seems to be the phone for me. Not much coverage from English sources on YT though. A lot of Indians but those have weird priorities when it comes to phones (cheap Windows Phones were a big hit in India for example). Or not. Depending on the used display there seems to be image burn-in from the status bar. Bummer. That’s why I’m paranoid when it comes to “cheap” stuff that seems too good a value. ---

That isn’t exclusive to “cheap” stuff. even my LG G5 has really bad screen burnin on the edges and the status bar, its mostly caused by white object and if I leave my phone open on the forums the entire left side is usually filled with @Dje4321’s avatar for some time XD ---

My phone is ~2 years old now and I don’t notice any burn-in. The symbols in my status bar are always the same and white. And it’s considered a “cheap” phone (under 200€ iirc at the time it was released). It’s a shame. Stuff like that makes it a pain in the ass to find the right thing for you. Weighing all the pros against the cons. Sometimes it feels like we’re taking steps back in some areas. ---

Yea isn’t great. my LG ultrawide is just over three years old now and near the end of last year I noticed a faint line down the center of the screen and our old LG TV had a similar issues. otherwise the displays are really good through ---

I know that’s a thing but it definitely isn’t that. The line meets exactly where my browser and terminals separate in i3 and is about the same thicknesses of the divided space plus it isn’t exactly in the center of the display.
