I know this is not intended but the escalators in Prague’s subway are way faster than here. And in Munich they’re so slow, you’re faster taking the stairs.
That’s why you also use the escalator as stairs and get the best of both worlds.

I use it so I don’t have to move.
Moving using my muscles, not being moved by the escalator.
Plus, when there are many people on the escalator I just stand cause it’s annoying trying to get past people who don’t stand on the right side.

still waiting for the tubes escalators are old news, i mean they got the moving sidewalks and such but gets pretty complicated to do turns and stuff prolly
we need hoverboards. real ones, not those toys on wheels.
or hover-skates.
