The skills haven’t been passed down for a lot of people.
Boomers wanting to give their kids an easy life with all the amenities possible can backfire a lot cause they get pampered and have no idea how to do anything.
On the other hand, poorer people might not have the tools, resources, money, time to properly DIY. IF they do, they do it out of necessity, not because it’s a “fun project”.
At least that’s my impression.
das most diy anyways lol. like doin oil change yourself to save that little bit extra, like if i had room in garage it wouldnt cost me 100$ for full synthetic oil with crappiest possible oil filter
fixing broke shiz, repurposing stuff like making bunkbeds in step brothers
and was mostly the non boomers that was doin it lol cause all mad about their boomer parents bein hardass or whatever dunno the name think before gen x or early gen x like 60~70s, with their parents bein the 40~50s ww2 boomer babys, got that whole kids at 16~22 thing goin on back then more than the 30s> like now
