tfw intel improved the performance per watt by a shizload, but still double the power of ryzen 5000 for tiny improvement but only in some programs in multithreaded(in 16core vs 16core) prob no chance of competing in multi threaded against the 3d cache one on am4 let alone actual next gen zen5 with ddr5 etc
but they did somethin reduced like 100w power draw 
The best improvement is that Intel’s 12th gen doesn’t work with Denuvo and now the games have to be patched.
