Project Space Writing Report:
Work on chapter 2 is going well. I have two options of where I can go with the for the story so Iām going to do both. Why? I feel like it. Those both will happen later. The main character is going to go through a lot. That sense of dread and despair is going to be in every chapter. This is not a story with a lot of talking. It is heavily focused on how the character reacts, deals with her situation, and faces her past. Most of these future reports are going to be very vague due to spoilers. I like the slower pace of this story. It allows for a building of tension and to work toward elements of horror suspense.

@wolfleben do you know of any good movies where the bluray version has a significantly improved video quality compared to the dvd release? (which would justify buying the movie again)
just bluray, not 4k
Now if you have a blu ray player that does upscaling then mostly no. However there are films you/I can tell the difference on

Truth be told it could be a very long list. A lot of 80 films were transferred straight from the original film to the blu rays. Also for Animated films the Bluray is a better image quality.
Star Wars on blu ray for the OG has an issue of not being the Original versions. The light saber battles have intermittent green flashes. The Prequels donāt have this issue. However now that Disney has bought the film division of FOX they now have access to release the original versions of the films on Blu Ray. FOX had owned the rights to the original trilogy and the special editions for an indefinite period of time.
There is a Blu Ray that is actually worse the dvdā¦

Iām not joking. The Blu Ray is terrible. The UHD Blu Ray though is just like the theater.
Now should you re buy if you own the dvds? Well DVDs cropped out stuff to fit on a 4:3 so you lost stuff. Maybe not replace them all at once but a little at a time. Now if the dvd has 16:9 then you havenāt lost anything and would be fine keeping it as long as your bluray player upscales.

Isnāt there a specific versions nerds/geeks praise to high heavens while everything else is considered butchery commited by George Lucas? (like the blue color of the lightsabers?)
I havenāt followed the progress on SD to HD conversions but iirc a lot of the early ones were just half-assed re-releases of the DVD version. Sometimes with video issues, sometimes with bad audio.
Amazon has a āBuy 3, pay 2ā sale going on including movies, games and music. I figured I could get some older ones I own the DVD versions of (older like Silence of the Lambs) and throw in a few ānewerā releases I donāt have at all (although, I honestly donāt care for most of the stuff that came out in the past few years).
The other question - besides which ones are worth the āupgradeā - is what to do with the DVDs. They sell for next to nothing used (unless itās something of worth for collectors but in that case I wouldnāt sell anyway) and take up space (Iām talking 152+ DVDs).
Give the dvds away? Thats what I did for ones I upgrades.
I donāt have an issue the special edition except for the green flashing screen on the blu ray. Iād just like to have original version on blu ray as well. Like with Blade Runner. George Lucas is the person who made Star Wars he had ever right to do what he wanted.

Final Cut
All of them were released on blu ray. I watch the Final Cut when I go to rewatch but I have the other version to watch if I ever decide to rewatch them.

I like it when an edition includes them all. Like The Frighteners comes with both the theatrical and directorās cut.
Havenāt noticed anything either but tbh I only watched Episode IV since I got the Bluray boxes.
Hmā¦I donāt know anyone who watches DVDs. Everyone jumped on the streaming bandwagon or pirates them 
I might hit up one of my local libraries to see if they accept movie donations.
But that might take a while anyway. I avoided buying the Bluray of a movie I already own on DVD.

At work again woo. This time I actually have slept tho lol.
In other news. I may have something really interesting coming up soon. If I can sell my van and some of my extra tech in time and all that, that is. Hint:

I used to be on top of rumors and such but then the heresy of non-linear timelines invaded and Yeahhh nope. Not as much anymore. Damn you twitter and other social sites lol.
Now it requires work to stay on top of things news for tech things which I either donāt have time for or I donāt care about so meh.
Techlinked and etc are more than enough for me when working and when not working will watch long shows like Craft Computings weekly one so.

The fuck is it with this weather? Here itās been pissing and thundering for the last few days. Today weāre having ~78Ā°F but itās still not a day for a picnic with the strong wind and cloudy sky.

When you put Linux on the PlayStation 3 you can still boot into the regular OS and have an additional option for Linux whenever you want to use it, ofc this is all assuming its below the relevant update but iirc there are also hacked firmwares that allow it again.

In some places in the US winter is 80 degrees (60 at night) and 110+ in the summer lol.
