TLDR Functionally the 2080 is very similar to the 1080 Ti and as of right now there are no RTX titles at launch so if you just buy it now this part of your life will still not be ray-traced.

I experimented with how much I could have my phone as well (and eventually decided leaving it the office when I wasnāt actively doing things out in the plant was best option, with no negative on my productivity) but nooo.
I suppose it probably had more to do with the other guy who was training me in either not liking me? Or thinking I wasnāt ready/he would need to train me more?
Its about 50/50 for above but either way despite him being same level as I was technically what he said went so. Yeah.

Well now that NDA is up I can weigh in on this.
We knew from the start the RTX features werenāt going to be available off stage for reviewers. We knew the 2080 wasnāt going to beat the 1080 Ti by any substantial margin (just look at the core configsā¦) and we still know that nVidia is going to be legitimately rebadging GP102 as a 20xx product in the near future, likely for an OEM but with their insistance that the 10 series will continue to be sold until next year, itās possible that weāll see something like that GTX 1080 Ti 10GB hit shelves as a limited release or cheaper alternative to the 2080.
What is also happening, and I havenāt seen much talk about it, is that nVidia has been binning, badging, and selling at higher margin āRevision Aā versions of each Turing design. Rev. A ASICs are super-high binned chips that are allowed to be overclocked by AIB partners, while normal chips cannot be. Think back to the 1070 Ti launch, but now even more confusing.
This is nVidiaās Vega. Higher power draw, higher prices, missing features, empty promises, minimal performance edge over last gen to justify it all.

Chapter 4 is progressing well. The main character is about to fight. Fights are tricky to write. I know what the character is going to do and how. I need to research something briefly today. Why? Character is going to in the US term flick off an areana full of aliens. Yes they wonāt know it but it will be an act of defiance. However the character is from the United Kingdom. Now I know the V not palm side is how it is done over there. In fact I know the history of that goes back to the Battle of Crecy. Iāll find out what is called soon enough.

Neat. My grandpa upgraded from the one laptop I helped him find a few years back for a great deal (inspiron 17" laptop with skylake something or other in it) and is giving me it now. Needs a new keyboard and possibly HDD but still.

I have an idea for the story I could be writing afterward. It will also be a horror story but not in space. Set in a modern fantasy city. Main character was a solicitor . Now is a private investigator.
It will be a bit before I start writing it. I will not start working on it till Project Space is published.

That laptop looks like its its in bad shape given its age, kinda worse than my laptop did and that was like 7 years old XD
even my current laptop with an i3 6100U and probably about the same age still looks almost new.
its just the keyboard that is bad lol. its otherwise just in need of a clean.
for an idea of why the keyboard is bad (probably also the HDD but maybe not) is because the grandpa who used it literally plays WoW all day every day because heās pretty much house bound soooo yeah lol.
i really need to make him a bluetooth Lets Split mech keyboard but i have no idea how to actually hand build one xD i tried building half of one and it only sortof works. oh well. would be perfect for him to set on his lap or desk and play on his computer without moving too much as he has RA so.
