Reset it to 4ghz just because windows is being a dick so repairing it lol… Will see how it goes after that

No clue. Am trying a few benches to see how stable it is (or isn’t) and then will probably try with diffferent settings from that point.

I think I’m hitting a wall with my motherboard here for the 3970X. If I add too many volts it crashes no matter what. Which is unlikely to be the CPU. So is mobo.

So far its semi stable at the above 5.104 ghz.
5.24 ghz max for just booting so far at a whopping 1.7v lol

1.7 to 1.71v seems to be the hard limit.

damn, my god that voltage is high, guess they didn’t expect somebody to push it that hard on the board but at least you beat coffee lake on clock speed though

I mean no sane person would but usually boards are overbuilt like crazy lol… Its not like I dont just happen to have a P9X79 Deluxe laying around tho lol so is a minor problem at most. Just will be annoying switching it all around.
