What?
Any ideas what can be done with a machine with an i5-2500, 4GB RAM and a GT 210? Doesnāt make sense as a low end gaming machine as I already have my main PC and the case doesnāt have enough drive bays for a NAS/server.
Maybe something like an HTPC? Could use it to stream content to it like youtube or netflix and such or even set up smb on your desktop and stream shows from your hard drive and watch them on the television in the living room.
I consume 100% of media content on my desktop. The last time I had my TV in my room on was when I tried the 5m HDMI cable and the lag was terrible (although, @Cavemanthe0ne pointed out that it might just be one of the HDMI ports on my TV thatās causing the latencyā¦still havenāt tried other ports, though). So if I wanted to watch something on a bigger screen I could just hook my TV up to my desktop.
Outside of a server/HTPC I donāt have many other ideas, could use it for spare parts/troubleshooting if anything those wrong with your desktop or maybe even build it up and give it to somebody like a family member who could use it as a desktop?
My cousin has his own PC (i5-46xx, R9 280) and my other cousin has her laptop for school (she got rid of her desktop a few years ago) and her boyfriend - while being into PCs - doesnāt see any benefits of hardware āthat lowā.
My mom has her laptop (same model as mine) and she only uses it for facebook and some web browsing.
Even knowing that I got 2 of those HP Compaq machines cause I see the i5-2500 with just a cooler or in an office-style PC for ~80ā¬ on our version of craigslist. And I paid 20ā¬ for both PCs total. Nice for spare parts or if the PC in the living room suddenly craps out but Iād like to put them to use. Kinda feels like a waste as the CPUs are still pretty good.

Project Space Writing Report:
Chapter 10 has just been started. This chapter is about the main characther started to deal with what has happened to her and figuring out what to do next. It is an important chapter that will determine what I write for the rest of the story. It will take a bit to cover the various things but I expect this chapter to be long.
