< trying to figure out some options for doing animation stuff i guess :x
have seen whatever list things, with usually blender etc as options but idk maybe a video would help i guess to get an idea how it works
thinking more like southpark style i guess where its actual produced drawings instead of a rendered model, but basically assembled into a sprite of a model with all the walking animations and whatever they can do pre drawn
mean have done some manual animation with gimp to create some transitions and stuff but seems time expensive
seems blender more animating the model itself like in a game by draging the skeleton and stuff :x
but idk mostly just done editing for time alotment besides creating a transition or whatever here and there :x for normal video editing stuff
Alright, the 8bitdo controller works fine with Steam and Higan (tested with Super Metroid for the SNES), and I tried it with Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition from GoG. And it works with Snes9x EX+ on my phone. Unfortunately it doesnât get recognized in Dolphin.
Steam does a really good job with controllers other than the XBox controllers (360 and One). You can basically remap the buttons and set it to what the controller is supposed to behave like (XBox, PS, even Switch Pro). The settings for that are accessible via Big Picture mode.
Getting it connected was as easy as it gets. Plug the BT adapter into a USB port, power on the controller and youâre ready to go. Depending on what device you want to use it with thereâs a different button combination but once itâs paired the controller remembers the last device and you only need to press and hold Start.
Unless I need both pairs of shoulder buttons I prefer to use R2/L2 as R1/L1 cause itâs more comfortable to hold.
The quality seems fine. Itâs certainly not on the level of a XBox One controller but also not like the cheap wired SNES controller that I have (that one feels a bit flimsy and would certainly not be worth the price of an 8bitdo controller).
I think Iâll still prefer the XBO controller for âbigâ titles. The longer handles are more comfortable for longer sessions and the R2/L2 buttons arenât analog which might be required for some titles (like racing games).
8bitdo does have models (Pro Plus) with longer handles and I think they have analog triggers. And theyâre a bit more clunky if you want to take it with you, not only because of the handles but they have a compartment for batteries/battery pack (the other models only have a built-in battery).
Aaaand just in time for my XBox Controller Wireless Adapter to bite the dust. And the pile of crap canât connect via cable (only on Win7 cause the adapter doesnât work there). Screw it. Fuck Microsoft. About half a year after the warranty ran out it breaks.
Iâm going BT on that one too. Proprietary wireless connectors are a rip-off.
I hate this fucking wireless adapter. I noticed that for some reason my USB flash drive wasnât recognized in Windows. So I did a restart and voila: both the flash drive AND that fucking piece of shit of a wireless adapter fucking worked again! FUCK!
And I already promised my cousin to give him the controllerâŚoh well, itâs not like those 50⏠were burning a hole in my wallet but my cousinâs pretty frugal when it comes to tech (still using a Ivy Bridge i5 and a HD 7000 series GPU). I already let him down when I suggested he could buy my 1700+mobo for a fair price when I upgrade this year. Obviously, I didnât upgrade anything in my PC. So the least I can do is hook him up with a new controller.
1981 Volvo 264 GLE V6/automatic.
getting it tomorrow for $800. everything works, and is in good shape surprisingly. was a one owner car, has new brakes, new tires, new water pump and etc. Only issue is that the switch to turn on the headlights is busted so have to replace that. the brights work though lol because the brights are on the column but the normal ones arenât. and possibly a few fuses in the fusebox but those are like $2 a piece and easy to access so meh.
partially also get it as one of my other friends got a damn 2008 prius for $3500 for some reason. i mean sure it gets good mileage but⌠meanwhile me finding the above car for wayy less and it still gets 24highway/18city and its a 1981.
will post some pics tomorrow.
for now, heres a random internet image to show what its like
lol yep
but $800 for a car in good shape is ⌠actually nice
i might mod it, might not. has a v6 that does 150hp so its ok-enough as it is but theres shops here that sell JDM engines that are 200-400HP for like $1300-2500 with transmisssions, so could do some dumb fun stuff with it if anything ever gives out thatâs major. for now iâll leave it as is.
unheard of in these parts. You need to spend at least 1500 for one that runs at all (let alone well) and even then the rust is about to take it off the road for good at that point.
The odd thing here is pre 1975 (pre smog) are worth min 2k even non running.
But the post 75 ones, like this 81, are dirt cheap unless itâs a sports car or something. And in great shape as well generally. Though this was a particularly good find other than the lights issue (but it still runs and drives fine and itâs just the switch/fuses and possibly some wiring at worst so meh?).
But back on topic; 1980-1990 Camry/Golf/etc sedans are like $1000 a pop here for running, driving and generally good condition cars. Whereas weather has killed most of them elsewhere. Is neat.
So, it appears that when connected via the 8bitdo Bluetooth dongle, both my new XBO controller and the 8bitdo controller are set up as the same device in Steam. Meaning: if I set up (mapped) the 8bitdo controller like a Switch Pro controller, then the XBO controller will be the same when I connect it. So rather recognizing the controllers it recognizes the BT dongle and associates it with a controller. Would be better if each connected controller was its own.
pretty potato photos for now (will do better ones tomorrow) but got it and got it back home too. figured out that the light switch is indeed the probable cause for the lights not turning on; the knob seen here just spins freely when its only supposed to have 3 options rip. will look into glueing it back together or replacing it so it can work again, and the brake lights seem to be out but that will be an easier fix depending what it is exactly. also needs some new rubber gaskets around the windshields but meh, done those on the rambler already so is easy enough.
also it was⌠fun driving with only brights and no brake lights for 20 mins rofl
triggered so many people but i couldnt really do anything because its worse to go no lights than unnecessary brights so meh
car is rather janky atm but ive also driven way worse.
the seats feel like a recliner as far as how comfy they are lol. the back seats are torn up but meh? can just throw a blanket over them. the glove box glue fell apart so the facia kindof falls off but ill probably gasket that thing back on. a lot of the interior trim is sundamaged as well so will mess with that at some point. radio⌠work-ish. the antenna got broken off at some point so its just in the trunk atm, so will have to fix that or just put in a new radio. which i may do, either one with an aux jack or a new one with bluetooth as there is new speakers in the car so. the radio only sometimes is on though which ill also have to diagnose⌠but i also have my bluetooth boom box⌠so meh.
but the important to use stuff works other than the brake lights (which are probably going to be fixed by me soldering or crimping the wiring directly to the lights, whicever is easier) and the headlights which i ordered a generic replacement to fix the switch. wont look stock but $20 vs $200 for the OEM one so fuck the OEM one unless i have to get it for some reason.
Also neat, or not I guess depending, the engine in this car is the same PRV V6 as the Delorean ⌠Lol. Except this Volvo is light enough that it can actually power the car reasonably well. Unlike the DMC.
Itâs actually not bad in this thing so far. Iâll be putting in new oil (putting it on Synthetic because I have no idea whatâs in there now but synthetic tho), new coolant, and⌠Thatâs about it really. Also am going to change the oil in my Civic soonish but meh vaguely related.
I guess the only thing bad about the engine currently is that it has a tendency to seep oil because of how it was designed. But thatâs more just annoying than problematic.
So, I ran into a weird issue with the 8bitdo BT adapter. Or at least I suspect itâs caused by it cause it only started happening after I used it.
The issue is that - and I havenât figured out what and when exactly the issue is triggered - my PC no longer detects any new USB devices I plug in. The ones that are already connected (mouse, keyboard, DAC, even the BT adapter) still work but when I plug a USB flash drive in nothing happens. No sound from Windows, not popping up in the Windows Explorer.
I have to ârestartâ the PC so it works again. I say ârestartâ cause whether I press restarts or shut down it doesnât complete the task. The PC either stays in âShuttind downâ or the monitors go dark and the PC does something but doesnât shut down. Have to push the reset button and then it restarts.
Online search wasnât successful at all. Any idea what causes this or how I can fix it?
I have another BT dongle on the way but it wonât be here before Friday.
