went to get my knee checked out today (its popping/cracking whenever i go up stairs or bend it with weight on it, doesnt seem to hurt but its a strange noise and i dont like it) but also found out that as a result of doing a ton of working out over the past months, in about 4 months i went from 215lbs to 235lbs, and have grown out of my uniform so had to get a new set, and switched t ocps. lol. nice.
also back to using my IBM Model F as my daily, is great, can type very well again.
otherwise HI

you gonna get a peg leg son

soonTM

was really thinking about a Smith and Wesson in 38 special for $350 but above was at the BX on base for $400 and is 357 Magnum (which can fire both 357 and 38 special) so got the Taurus Model 65. have to wait… 10 days or possibly more depending on background check, but once thats done will pick it up. was quite surprised to find anything at the BX (since its tax free and all that) but theres some guns coming back in stock so thats nice.
otherwise decided to also work on the Volvo some, got some oil for it and stuff. once the plates arrive next week i can daily it again so topped up the oil and whatnot and getting new tires next week.

10 days eh

well
10 days in theory for the waiting period
realistically, whenever the DOJ processes the background check, with how many guns being bought lately that may mean it will be a while. i guess ill find out lol

mean da federal you can just assume its fine if they never responded date is only couple days isnt it?

so unless some gae bs, like wait 10 days, then do your back ground check, or wait til it passes then wait 10 more days

would assume like 10days lol

well its basically a “10 day minimum” so they can technically take as long as they want to process it, but then whenever they are done, i also have 10 days from that day to pick up the gun. if i miss those 10 days have to pay for another background check and repeat it again lol
in other words CA laws are annoying

that sucks

CA is wierd lol. Got annoyed that I couldn’t buy 38spl/357 mag ammo since it’s sold out most places. But was able to get 250 bullets for $20 and 300 primers for $7 lol. Now just need … Well, a lot more to handload but will deal with that problem later. But all the parts to make ammo don’t even need a background check and yet ammo does. Strangeness.

powder too?

Imagine if buying cigarette packs doesn’t need an ID but buying filters, paper and tobacco does. Kinda weird.

Even powder doesn’t need an ID, lol
Which, when you can buy literally lbs of highly explosive powder at a time, is strange.

probs cause expensive, and prolly no one buys alot without doing like a custom order/online

like if you actually reload a bunch, you aint buying boxes of 100 bullets unless its just to try a new bullet, prolly online like 1000s at a time, 10k primers at a shot etc

like even if boomer and no innernet, if you call up/go in and have a shop order you a case of whatever, they gonna have contact info and shit at that point

a full lb is $29-35 here of varying kinds and explosiveness (cheaper probably elsewhere or online)
for reference, a standard 357 mag load is usually something like 4 grains of powder, all the way to 15 grains depending on powder type
1 lb is 7000 grains lol
so depending on the powder type used, thats a shitload of ammo, usually somewhere in the 1000rd mark for pistol calibres
less for rifles because reasons
but all you need to buy the stuff is money.
then again to actually have any use out of it have to buy the really expensive reloading tools and bits for it but still

nah is pretty cheap for basic setup

but mean compared to buying the bulk farmer grade ammonium nitrate fertilizer, prolly like 10~100x the ost per lb
