idk seems kinda waste to go to making custom shells for mods, to not remake back to just fit in 18650s or some other larger lithium pack, like if they didnt have all the ridges and stuff for the AAbays/springs etc could fit like 3-4 of them int he same area prolly
like some flat pack the size of the screen or something idk

Iāve mostly seen ppl take the battery box out and replace it with li ion packs and a little charge / oc board.

ye mean boi bought custom cases which the front one was made for the lcd they used which wasnt the standard one, but then back had the whole waste of space shell for the AA holder built in still, could have had a bigger pack in same space if no dividers/door/springs and stuff

Could even just wire up RC car batteries lol, they have a +/- anyway and last way longer/easy to recharge compared to normal batteries. That said I probably would just emulate it on my phone before fully modding it but thatās more because I donāt feel like spending that kind of money on a GBA (since I donāt already have one). If I did Iād probably mess with itā¦ The mods make it so much better

Could get something like this, which is apparently a thing now, 18650s in the AA form factor with USB charging built in. Which is interesting, though Iām not sure if the Gameboy would like the 3.6v or not

can get replacements atleast but not sure yet if can get another pack with better capacity or not, then the 480/600(supposedly), some are just a smol pouch cell in a random paper case or whatever to make it look like the nintendo one etc
This one physically fits (almost same dimensions as the original Nintendo one) only thing would be that itās 7.4v not 3.8v but has 1500mah in same form factor as the original 460mah
Thereās some cheap 700-800mah batteries that are the same volt and like half the size of the original as well
