My WiFi at school is so fucking bad, I can’t play online on my switch without the connection dropping after 5 minutes. :rage:

I’d put some of that down to the wifi on the switch being fairly shit. I’m not even that far from my AP and it isn’t the best.

my wifi at school is 24mbps down, 12 up on really shitty APs. At my house i get 250-300 down and 25-50ish up

yea well its likely more of an issue with wifi congestion and shitty APs than anything else as 24/12 should be fine for gaming.

The networking infrastructure is horribly outdated from what I hear and only one guy is responsible for the whole system.

There is a reason A Linux Distro Guide was made in a hidden area of the forum and launched locked.

Yep sounds like most places I know. network infrastructure is almost always ignored and under funded and yet they still expect it to work like it is.

Because its you posting that makes it even more amusing.

Its what I had guessed though.

Unrelated;

It’s interesting being a leader there. Some members actual think I’m a mod. Others think I’m a madman for closing necro threads. Others really want me to be a mod. I’m just doing the best I can. There is a balance to all of it but most of the time I close a necro and move on. In super rare instances I’ve closed threads that went way off the mark or were low effort. Sometimes I bury spam or bot threads before anyone sees them and flag them for the mods to take care of. It’s be interesting to see behind the curtain.

@Michael
Now that I’ve had time to play with LXQt desktop environment for two weeks I can give my thoughts on it:

It does have nice look.
Doesn’t use very much resources.
Easy to configure and play with.
Basic and easy to figure out menu.

Now for the bad -
Stuttering
Delayed Response

Now given this Desktop Environment isn’t at 1.0 means there is work to be done to iron out issues. It is possible the Stuttering and Delayed Response are as result of my laptop only having 4 gigs of ram and no I can’t upgrade that. Despite these bad issues I’m very impressed for how polished the thing is.
