The Lounge 0001 [From the Beginning]

That does sound pretty cool. The Mass Effect trolling in IV was amazing in its self especially the stuff with Anderson. I find it amusing that they had the balls to use the same voice actor for the sake of it which just made it even better.

So ended up with $260 or so after eBay fees and the like from the broken FE Vega. Seriously debating going to Microcenter and picking up a 1070 Ti at some point as they are $470 or so for good air cooled ones (and I can sell my R9 390 for $250-300 depending on ebay probably)

I would go for a 1080 but I mean a 1070 ti is basically a 1080 so why lol
And I couldn’t quite get a 1080 Ti so.

Vega is way beyond out of the question because pricing. Unless i got one for review but even then … Meh?

Because if I’m being honest I couldn’t recommend Vega currently. Because pricing vs performance and also the only thing it really shines in is mining.
If it was at MSRP I’d more than happily recommend the cards but… They’re not.

nice. any plans on upgrading to your 1800x

Getting there. Just waiting on a pump, res, and a couple other little parts for my custom loop first before I switch CPUs. I figure why switch them out until I’m redoing the cooling anyway.

neat are you going to incorporate the loop into the thief theme of the build?

I have a red radiator and blood red coolant with an EKWB clear CPU block so kindof not really lol

Still sounds like it’ll match it quite well. can’t wait to see it when its done.

Pics of said things

And yep @Michael should match fairly well. If not totally fit in lol.

Though I havent decided if I care enough to do hard tubing… As it functionally makes no difference but visually it can.

In any case I just have clear tubing and the like so the clear red coolant will show up well.
Not doing pastel red because 1) pepto-bismol effect and 2) its pastel which has gunk in it.

If I ever did custom watercooling i’d stick to soft tubing. I’m too lazy for aesthetics sake and hard tubing just makes it a whole lot harder to maintain without actually providing any benefits.

Someday a custom loop would be pretty cool, but I’d go all out with hard tubing and some uber expensive case for it all (not that the watercooling makes any difference for my case choice, I already like the >$400 ones…).

Pastel does look great, but the gunk and discoloration over time is unfortunate.

The one I’m building probably will be worth $300 or so but I’ve more or less acquired the majority of the kit for free (and I’m hoping some I get at Christmas. Like the pump and fittings). Will probably have to get a res myself but those are easy lol. (Like $40-60)
So between gifts and randomly getting parts from either my dad (the CPU block) or a friend randomly giving me a $100 gift card at Primochill he got from buying a lot of stuff through them ill probably only spend $50-80 on a $300 loop.
Not bad.

Holy hell just finished the second season of The Magicians and I thought the first season was incredibly interesting but also messed up… This second season just takes it to a whole other level of fucked up lol… Reallly good though.

In other news a friend of mine wants my 390 so may be getting the 1070 ti sooner than expected.
Also soonTM for watercooling.
Also need to finish my streaming room… Will probably work on that today too.
