Mostly 90s as before that systems generally were built well as you were dropping $1000 easily on them and that’s old money so counting for inflation that’s anywhere between $2000 and $5000 in todays money so. They were built better pre 90s
So early 32bit Processors. There about as fragile as modern ICs there just so old it takes less to break now. There not inherently more breakable.
Lol the CPUs probably are the same but everything around it (especially the motherboards) not so much.
Some motherboards were good but a lot just didnt have things like overvolt protection so static will break them.
Yes but the parts are much easier to replace. All through hole parts and are fairly standard and even made today
Not in the 90s… In the 80s sure. You can basically build most 80s pcs now by soldering them together from off the shelf bits
With both a North and South Bridge there were more points of fail. When components have a tolerance of a few milli volts nothing is hard to brake. Also the larger components are harder to short
i see youve taken shelter XD
More or less lol. Still in the guard shack but taking quick pics of outside as this is the first actual blizzard like snow in a few years
Massive kek
So crit is suddenly bustling with activity…
Here’s the usual but forum maintenance in a few minutes lol
