Bring your own spices then? A small bottle of Tabasco doesn’t take up much space in a backpack/messenger bag. A former co-worker if mine always carried a small spice shaker with him - although, he was the “as spicy as possible cause hot is never hot enough” kind (he also grows his own chili plants).
