The Lounge 0001 [From the Beginning]

The screws still drive me nuts.

yea about half way through it now is a pretty one. I like that its almost an hour now and split into three instead of 4 videos.

Non-daily news shows on YT are weird. By spreading them out over a few days in multiple parts youā€™re not losing anything in terms of ā€œfreshnessā€ cause youā€™re already gathering the topics over some time. But at the same time it feels a bit outdated. I mean, the WAN Show, Awesome Hardware, etc are also only once a week, so they gather a week worth of news, with the worst case being something that occurred 6 days ago.

Your also forgetting that most news tends to come out near the weekend so it only tends to be a few days old at best

Overall I still prefer the format of having the shows once a week instead of daily or split up but this apporch does seem like it makes more sense for YouTubes algorithm at least for them. in terms of L1News they still arenā€™t as fresh the same as if it were at the beginning of the week as they are recorded at once and by the time of the last episode youā€™d be getting the same news almost a week later.

im fine with it if they are going to be 50 some minute episodes. im basiclly getting the news 3 times a week now instead of once a week

You mean the companies release their press stuff before the weekend or the news shows are near the weekend?

Yep if they can keep up with that and we are getting more content overall Iā€™m fine with it. Iā€™m hoping the other two episodes are just as long as this one instead of having a really long one at the beginning with the later one tailing off but in that case it would still be more content overall so not that bad.

Yes

Itā€™s not like news-worthy events are only happening near the weekend, so thereā€™s that.

Yes but the more major ones tend to come out near the weekend

Jesus how much fucking loot are you getting XD

Yeah, but thatā€™s just the scheduled ones, not the random things that companies do without a date in mind (fuck-ups and stuff like that).

lmao yes thereā€™s that

@Zoey, Iā€™m about to hammer you with questions about BTRFS RAID5 (because Iā€™m nervous about it)

Iā€™ve just spent a good 30 minutes looking into it and it seems that it no longer has the ā€œincorrect parity calculationā€ bug, but the only real major issue is the write hole. Is that right?

I did see a patch go in, round July of last year, to address the write hole, but it seems like it was rejected for some reasonā€¦

If so, am I correct in assuming the write hole is essentially the same problem that MD RAID has (and any ā€œhardwareā€ controller that doesnā€™t have a battery)?

Iā€™m just trying to analyze the risk of data (>20TiB) when Iā€™ve got a working (and tested) UPS protecting the server from sudden power loss.

Ive got soo much work ahead of me. I need to sell my items worth 190k and 95k. :rage:

might just give myself the gold to save the 20 hours its going to take to shuffle items around

EDIT: After selling all of my goods. im now at 435k gold XD
