I have a feeling it is will be later and something more akin to Skyrim or Fallout 4 but in space but with different planets to visit. could actually see it being sorta similar to Mass Effect Andromeda in that respect which would be bad.
Probably Bethesda Rpg. If it were Obsidian Entertainment it would be an Rpg.
Im hoping its not gonna be that way. Bethesda has almost stripped fallout of its RPG elements and nearly ruined the series for me. FO4 was terrible in terms of a RPG. ok-ish game but more post-apoplectic action than anything else
I agree, Fallout 4 was a fun game to play but the world and characters were always felt somewhat lacking and boring. many quests in that game were just “explore this building/vault, kill these raiders/synths” without much substance to why you were actually doing it, all just felt like hollow mindless killing to me and power armour made that worse.
I also did not like regardless of which faction you joined, you always had to wipe out one or two of the other factions.
Yes this all goes back to the game being more focused on action. I sided with the Brotherhood and I don’t want to spoil anything but lets just say I was less than happy about the way things turned out going that path.
my biggest complaint was that the game forced you to be a character and the dialogue was soo bad. The options didnt even resemble what was actually said.
“Do you want to be evil?”
I select no but my character does their own thing - “Probably not but ill consider it”
yes this was awful
There is also the thing about your character having backstory that was very rigid. Fallout 3 and Vegas was like, “here you are in the wasteland do what you want” but in Fallout 4 it felt like your character was forced into doing the story going down that predefined path.
I kinda wish bethesda would almost abandon voice acting to allow the writers to have so much more freedom. Would still have some dialoge for things like critical events or when you encounter someone. Would be kinda like morrowind.
Also instant fast travel needs to die in a fire. i shouldnt be able to stand in a wilderness and just teleport to a city across the map
most people can’t be bothered to read dialog any more, it has to be spoon fed to them
… - people talking about fallout:
you can still spoon feed it to them pretty hard. Most of the time in morrowind when you were given orders, it would be short and too the point with what your supposed todo clearly defined.
Your mission is to goto city A and kill person B. They tend to hang out at place Y but ask around and see if anybody has noticed anything about them
True, but I’d argue that in morrowind to really understand the game and the world you had to read the other information beyond that
It’s the Bee’s knees
and lol @Michael i’ve literally played 2 hours of New vegas and didnt like a minute of it
tried Fallout 4 a bit but it’s skyrim … but stupid.
lol.
not really. if you missed anything then your questlog/journal would have all the information you needed. Would probably also be quest markers to help you out too.
Only thing in morrowind that you had to understand was creating your character and even then a shit character would be a god within a few hours anyway
all bethesda games start really slow
