no. it was on the stock som but was soo buggy that it was hard to use because the settings app and wireless update app would do nothing but constantly freeze and crash
damn I didn’t think the stock rom would’ve been that bad. thank fuck for CM then
Oh also. This thing can have up to 8 drives in it stock. And if you get the 5.25" to HDD adapter it can hold 11 HDDs rofl.
I think I’m just going to have … 5. Or 6. So far anyway.
install ALL the drives you can get more than @TheDiddilyHorror now XD
Woot. Should hopefully be able to order the laptop from @Cavemanthe0ne either today or tomorrow
nice is gonna be great having a laptop that can get stuff done again.
I love Solus but damn can be it annoying sometimes. I need unbound resolver for something but the version in the repo is broken and I can’t start the service
is gonna be so nice having a laptop that wont die under its own weight XD. Im hoping for 2-3 hours of gaming on straight battery power. Might even pickup a spare battery i can swap out during like long drives.
RIP. solus can be a pain. It just needs more community help since its pretty much entirely maintained by about 4 people XD
yep hopefully gaming for 3 hours on battery would be amazing, maybe you’ll also be able to compile with more than a single core now XD
yep I do love Solus its not quite their get for some stuff but hopefully with some time and help they can improve it but from 4 people to get where it is now is no small feat.
Debian Laptop I’ll be buying news:
Not getting developer edition of the xps 13… I am getting the XPS 13 though and probably going to get it from Microcenter too. Probably get it February of next year.
What lead to this?:
Well I’m going to be install Debian. Debian has documentation for installing on the XPS 13 non developer edition. It is actually super easy so I figure why not. How easy?: Literal go into bios turn off secure boot, set boot from USB first, install Debian, Install wifi drivers, done.
That will depend on the thermal headroom. Even more so if i go for the 4core CPU as its another 10W of TDP and the laptop is not known for being quiet under load XD. Compiling should be good though if i go with interactive scheduling where it keeps the CPU at a certain load leaving some room left for the rest of the OS
yep well the 4 core alone would be a huge help for compiling even if it is a leaf blower but as long as it can kept cool enough it should be fine.
people wont like me compiling shit if it sounds like a airplane takign off in public spaces
fuck them, stuff needs compiled and it’ll get done now dammit. would be hilarious though if somebody came up to you about it thinking it was going to blowup or something XD
Um excuse me. Is there something wrong with your laptop? It sounds like it is about to die
Nope. Its supposed to sound like that. Thats how you know its working
hahaha, so much room for ACTIVITIES
using the pissboard simply as it is the only AM4 board with the full 24 lanes and I now have another SSD, an M.2 one in as well so
massive as fuck rofl
mmmmhmmm built.
lmao would be more scary if it didn’t sound like that XD
this gives me an idea, get a delta fan for my laptop, go to the starbucks in the trendy part of town, order a double espresso or something. carefully sit down and. BRRUUUUUUHHHHHH.
The look on the faces of the macbook and iphone crowd would be priceless.
