good we dont you here anyway /s
ditto, I really want this laptop in my life.
I enjoy that freedos 2 is a OS option
I know the Ryzen 7 model is going to be $1,200, but man I almost donāt care. Iāve been using the ProBook 645 G1 for over 3 years and itās just an amazing little machine. The G4 is supposed to be a newer chassis design but with the same amount of user accessible parts (minus socketed APU) and I/O options. Itās basically the same chassis as the Folio 9470m.
14" Ryzen 7 laptop that weighs under 4lbs yes please gimme now.
Edit: Woop my bad, the 745 G5 has the new thin chassis. The 645 G4 keeps the slightly larger chassis and loses the trackpoint + mouse buttons. That feature is now tied solely to the EliteBook series.
The ProBook 645 G4 laptop comes in the same aluminum chassis as the ProBook 640 G4, it is outfitted with a 14-inch display (exact characteristics are unknown, but expect various models to feature HD or FHD resolution as well as various brightness levels), it is 20.99 mm (0.83 inches) thick and it weighs 1.73 kilograms (3.8 pounds).
Depending on the model, the EliteBook 700 G5 laptops are 17.7 ā 18.25 mm thick (0.7 ā 0.72 inches) and weigh between 1.33 and 1.86 kilograms (2.94 ā 4.09 pounds). HPās EliteBooks are not exactly ruggedized, but they are designed to pass MIL-STD 810G testing for exposure to high and low temperatures, drops, humidity, and other environmental conditions. This does not mean that the fifth-gen EliteBook 700-series laptops can pass all of these tests, but they can handle the bumps of life on the go.
So I guess that means the 745 G5 has taken over for 645 series in features.
I donāt mind the slightly larger chassis but I really want a laptop with a trackpoint and losing that sucks.
Yeah that feature has been pushed up a tier now. Itās a bit of a bummer but at least the EliteBook 745 G5 has other features that make the increased cost worthwhile, such as ThunderBolt 3.
Keep in mind theyāre incorrectly saying the 645 G4 is 15.6" (itās 14") and that it has TB3 (it doesnāt). Otherwise specs are correct.
i wont ever buy a laptop without now. its just too good not to have
If I could afford it Iād just about swing for the 745 G5 for the TB3 if only for the possibility of adding an external dGPU down the line, I might have to start saving my pennies because I really want that.
Yeah the 745 G5 looks like the better all-around option, though with a starting price of $1,000 itās going to be a significant increase over the 645 G4 at top spec for otherwise identical performance.
yes, if I did go for that Iād aim for a more modest spec. the added features are just enough that it might make sense and the laptop should hold up a lot longer in the future.
So Bethesda seems to be teasing that yeah Rage 2 will be at E3. Also Peter Hines said he expects this will be there biggest show.
Do you remember when they show Fallout 4? There e3 show that year was probably the best one.
Next year though Digital Devoler was the best one, and they are doing another one this year and it will be the best one again.
Anyway Bethesdaās E3 show will be one to watch.
Wolfleben Predictions for E3 this year of games shown or announced with chance of happening:
Bethesda
-
Rage 2 - The Fact Bethesda is teasing it makes me think. Weāll get something. There were a combination of factors as to why the first one failed. Iām glad it was given a 2nd chance.
-
Prey Moon DLC - Iām hyped that this is getting teased. Prey 2017 was one of my favorite games of the year.
-
BETHESDAās SPACE RPG - Chances are pretty good. Also the characther will likely talk cause this was worked on around the same time as Fallout 4 according to rumors so brace yourselves and keep hype low on this one.
-
DOOM DLC - Maybe? I see DOOM II (2019) Being announced at next years E3 more likely.
Unknown
- According to some of my sources there is a new Alien game in the works and it is a shooter. Beyond that they donāt known. It could show up or get cancelled.
Rocksteady
- Superman Game - This has been rumored. After Arkame Knight [Spelling is likely wrong but I donāt care. The game is bad. Origins was better. Even if it was also a mess but slightly less messy.], I would never touch one their games.
Remedy Entertainment
- Unknown Game - No it wonāt be Alan Wake 2. Ort a sequel to Quantum Break. This is something new. Also Microsoft wonāt be publishing it so Iām hopeful itāll be something good. Yes we will see something. Not sure if it will be game play.
MIcrosoft
- Perfect Dark Reboot - This is just a rumor. My sources heard there may be a reboot of Perfect Dark being made. Though we both agreed this is a long shot. Put this at probably not.
CD Projekt Red
- Cyberpunk 2077 - This is its time. What we will see. How much we see. Remains to be seen. This is all but confirmed. CD Projekt wisely has kept hype low on this ever since they announced it.
- Remaster of Witcher 1. It hasnāt aged well. This might happen.
From Software - Nothing Till December.
EA
Atheme - COSMETIC LOOT BOXES.
Key Phrases for this years E3: No Loot Boxes, Live Services, Living World, Player Choice.
I am fairly interested in this if its true, I played Rage a fair bit and liked how the game carried its self and thge setting.
This could potentially be the game at E3 that Iām most excited for because a Bethesda RPG in Space sounds amazing and they could do so much with that but equally stands the most to be disappointing depending on the choices they make for this game.
I donāt know how I feel about another Alien shooter. Aliens Colonial Marines was a terrible game and I can see this being another repeat of that game.
Yes, I really want to see what Remedy can come up with out Microsoft one their back.
Have been waiting for this game soo long and really canāt wait to finally see something new about it.
yes, it is about time we are due a Witcher remake. although the game is great you can tell its age espeically over the Witcher 2 and 3 and how it handles and Iād be all over this if it goes come out.
So almost the same as every year but with the inclusion of no loot boxes?
My router refuses to upgrade the firmware. Iām going to have to get a new one.
Argh.
that kinda sucks having to buy a whole new router just because of updates, is it a really old model/provided by you ISP?
Nope. This is my wireless router. I own my cable router cause leasing is a bad idea. Good news is I did fix the wireless router. I just had to turn it off and back on. Firmware update stuck.
yep firmware updates are always the worse but is good that you got it working. I really hate that routers are so cheaply made that you even have to deal with this stuff.
The only reason I have a wireless router is my phone. Everything else is plugged into the router.
ah so your using this unit as an access point connected to your other router with all the wired devices?
