lol I haven’t done 12 hours in a while but I have trouble sleeping, my body usually wakes its self up around every 4 hours almost without fail.
i tend to not be sleepy and then crash for 4-6 hours. i cant ever wake up though
I’m about the same, my average sleeping pattern is around 4-6 hours but usually end up staying up all night and most of the day just because I don’t feel tried enough to let me do it.
2 of the fucking books I got today were damaged again. No paper, no packing peanuts, no bubble wrap. And Amazon is wondering why I’m sending so much shit back.
Why hello
soo i’m not really an apple fan
but
i think I just found an Apple I for sale (or at least… it’s made in the same era and says Apple on some of the parts… so probably…) … will update in a few days if i got it or not but the person selling it has no idea what it is…
edit: is just clone Apple II but still interesting find
hmm
after some further digging
it doesn’t seem to be an apple I
but… it also isn’t an Apple II or any later variants…
… hmmm. it looks a lot like an apple II but some of the components are quite different on the PCB. this is interesting. this is one strange device lol. would be cool if is a prototype? not sure yet. it definitely has some Apple II parts on it. weeiird
so in one of the slots on it theres an Intel EPROM chip that’s 64K and UV-erasable
and some random Toshiba IC as well
HAHA
It’s a “Staff C1 Computer”
not unlike with the IBM PCs, there were a ton of Apple II clones and it’s one of them
for $30 starting bid though im still interested lol, even if it’s in rough shape
bid ends in a day, so will see. probably only bid up to like $50 because reasons
funnily enough, the Staff C1 clone is more rare than the Apple II is xD ( because apple instituted a, probably rightful, import ban on the things)
if i get it will be interesting fixing (or just reselling, lol)
I did find some intriguing Eng Sample CPUs though. Will see if I can get them and what they are. Though for some will need strange mobos to test, but still.
woot
got one lot of them
because i’ve never even seen this before, it looks to be LGA 1366 and its a “Swizzler” lol… along some some other random CPUs for $40 in various conditions and models
@Fouquin any idea what this thing is?
edit:
also there’s some random LGA 1150 CPU in the lot as well, but it’s blank so won’t be able to tell what it is till it’s arrived.
Possibly a mechanical sample for calibrating fabrication equipment, though the IHS looks like it’s gold or gold plated, which is peculiar enough that it could be for something completely different.
probably brass. easy to mill/cast
True, but why would they be sourcing brass for an IHS when copper and aluminum are already on the bill of materials for production?
Gold at least is lying around since the pads, pins, and external connections are gold.
Good point. I just think gold would be pointless on a heatsink
Gold is a fantastic thermal conductor. It was the primary material for thermal dispersion on integrated circuits for 20 years or so. Case in point:
Motorola 6800 - 1974
Intel Pentium Pro - 1995
And then flip-chip became a thing and it wasn’t a necessary expense anymore.
Edit: Also we’re further from the release of the Pentium Pro now than the time between it and the M6800.
good morning my fine gentleman.
