Wooo? after today will have worked 60 hours this week between two jobs lol. And if you count streaming as “work” (which it sort of is?) Is nearly 70 hours. Surprisingly I have gotten a semi reasonable amount of sleep as well so not that tired.
What’s up with all you guys then?

Meanwhile unions are trying to get rid of a law that would make it easier for companies to make you work 12h days.
Last time I had 72h weeks (Mon-Sat, 12h days) I got up, went to work, came home, ate, went to sleep. Quit after close to a month cause the conditions and pay were just terrible (apparently there were lots of new faces every week and other people not coming…should’ve noticed sooner).

For me its one baller job (which is 4 12 hour shifts in a row, and then 4 days off) and then the part time job I do. Though now that I have the really nice full time don’t need the part time so not going to be working it except if they have a an all hands on deck type day.
I’m quite happy with my new job though… Will be able to pay off my student loans in 4-6mos depending on how much I work and etc so. Woot. And after that’s taken care of… I could buy/buikd a high end gaming PC every two weeks after payday if I so felt like it lol. Or whatever, like a house. Etc.
Also lol.
But the 4 days off is super nice for streaming and projects.

It’s kinda funny to see - in a morbid way (and without wanting to start a pol debate) - how on one hand there are countries trying out the universal income thing, so people don’t have to worry about making money to survive, and on the other hand greedy companies pushing for more work hours while paying less (also ridiculous qualification requirements for entry level jobs with shit pay).

Also, trying out a new anime website since the last pirate cove I’d been using has gone to extreme lengths to prevent users from using adblockers. There was a simple filter to add to ublock and that worked, but now it’s just banning people for using them so I’ll move elsewhere rather than dealing with all that bs. Glad I diligently keep my MAL list updated so I know where I left off on shows I’m watching through.

I work 80h weeks. Luckily it’s only for 3-3.5 months. Though I would be loaded if it were for the whole year.
What good is money if you don’t have time to enjoy the things you spend it on? I mean, a really nice bed/mattress and comfort stuff like that would definitely be a plus (and those things are usually expensive).
But with 80h weeks, you’d eventually burn out.

yup, and due to the nature of my work it’s impossible to work the whole year anyway. That’s fine though, If I can live somewhat comfortably then I’m happy. So long as last year doesn’t happen again… though I did pay for a ton of shit and made about half of what I did this year so I don’t foresee that happening again.
But on a good day I pull in >1k so stretch that out for the whole year and damn… LOADED AF

That’s the risk of jobs like yours that I’m really not comfortable with. Same with jobs where the salary depends on how much you sell.
Like ski resorts. And they really depend on the weather too.

Nah, last year’s problem was I was severely underpaid for my work. And I still went ahead and bought a house, new bed, etc.
Maybe later this year or next year I’ll start teaching people guitar (since I’ve been told I’m pretty good… hell I could probably play professionally if I didn’t live in the sticks to be honest) as a side gig for the off season. Average price for one around here is like $30/hr so that’d be a pretty nice addition.

I don’t know how to play wonderwall lol. I could learn it pretty easily, but nope.
I play metal. Power metal to be more specific. Pretty difficult stuff, I’ve posted a couple in the listening to thread that I’ve been trying to learn.
I plan on teaching them theory and technique rather than “how to play wonderwall like every other douchebag in 3 easy steps!”
My brother is trying to get me to play country with him and it’s just so damn boring for me… Blues could be fun though.

Because country (bluegrass, folk, etc) can be quite interesting and even difficult to play.
Unless you’re Buckethead. That guy can play anything if it has strings.

That’s not a real banjo though, 6 string so it plays like a regular guitar. 5 string banjo is pretty different.
