Post what new thing you acquired recently

Morakniv Companion (stainless steel version, not the carbon steel)

Eventually I want a more “heavy duty” fixed blade like an Esee 5 or an Ontario Rat 5 but those are over 100€ and the Mora was only 15€. It’ll cut cardboard just fine.
Should arrive tomorrow. It has arrived.

Oh, completely forgot about this one. Bought it on impulse earlier this week when I went grocery shopping.

Cause I can’t post 3 posts in a row, there’s the latest stuff:

Curcial MX500 1TB SSD

Instead of getting another HDD to replace my 3TB one or a 500GB SSD + 2TB HDD I just bought a 1TB SSD and keep using the 3TB HDD with data that’s not important (and backed up twice anyway) until it dies. Or I’ll get a USB 3.0 enclosure and use it for backups too.

Also a new room fan cause mine’s been running 24/7 for ~1.5-2 years now and I want to have a spare one in case the current one dies. Better to have one now than waiting until the heat wave starts.

And a new mixer for my grandma. The one she uses now is the one she got from my great-grandma 15-20 years ago and no idea how long she had it before. Might take it apart and see if it needs any maintenance.

Was pleasantly surprised today when I woke up. About a week ago I ordered 500ml hand sanitizer for a whooping 25€, which is a lot but also still cheaper than any other deals in my area.
When I opened the box I was greeted by these two cuties:

No idea why, but I now have 2L for the price of 1x 500ml.

Been getting into both Warhammer and Warhammer 40k lately so got the massive book bundle of 40k books. Was going to get the DnD book bundle that’s up right now but I’ve read most of them so just got the 40k one

Ulefone Armor X5

Android 9 (probably not getting any updates at all)
5.5" 720x1440 IPS
MTK Helio P23
3GB RAM / 32GB ROM (+ microSD slot)
5000mAh LiPo battery
13MP cam (probably meh)
rugged

It’s for my grandma cause that PoS Nokia 800 Tough has now issues for the 2nd time. First one didn’t wanna update KaiOS and randomly turned itself off (despite enough battery charge). Now the replacement turned itself off today and wasn’t responsive at all anymore (not powering on, not detecting the USB charger). It did turn on after I removed the SIM tray but by then I opted to send it back for a [read title next to name]. This is my grandma’s phone. She’s not gonna fuck around with the SIM tray or any of that crap to get it to turn on again after it turned off randomly. So screw that.

Now she has to learn to use a smartphone (I gave her my old Moto G3 for now so she can make calls and use WhatsApp) but I think it’s gonna be fine.

Oh, and it’s the same price as the Nokia 9000 Turd (120€). It’s a cheapo brand but the variety of outdoor smartphones is pretty meh.

I got an LG 38GL950G. It’s giant, completely unnecessary, and I love it.

I also happens to barely fit on my desk which was admittedly better than expected

just for the heck of or any specific purpose?

Thought the helmet was cool, and was $23 lol.
Other stuff just because, I like how ugly the Swiss camo is. Though, it actually would work well enough in the Sierra mountains near here.

ye had cardboard at pizza place, so now i got a pizza place mascot at work

inb4 getting sued

what shoes are those?
need to get some new ones when the stores open again cause all the lighter ones i have for summer are falling apart.

some almost too worn out slip resistant(not at all) lol

is just the retro converse whatever style

wouldnt recommend this brand in particular or anything

the style idk, for some people is good, more flat, but is pretty squishy sole like of those 2 lines on the rubbery part on the bottom, the sole is all the way to the second line, where bunch the more modern sneaker has really firm section in the middle where the arch is this is squishy every where, so not good if you need support, but if the support annoys you cause your foot rams into it, then this might be better

Ah yeah, they looked like those leather converse.
But I doubt I can get them here and if they slip they’re useless (like regular converse).

My last 2 pairs of shoes I had for probably over 10 years and they had the soles completely flat and a hole in them and the stitching came loose. I’m kinda weird with shoes as I will wear them literally until they fall apart. Prefer well worn in ones that are comfy over new ones that feel stiff.
