Went from Pixel 1 to 3a, woooow. Also the buttons are taking some getting used to but mostly it’s quite a bit nicer.

What about it the upgrade makes it good for you?

A lot faster, but as important, muccchhhh longer battery life.
Though not having three dedicated buttons at the bottom of the screen is taking some getting used to

And I’m getting the temples swapped, so one will be all black and the other one gun grey and this weird light camo brown/yellow. The all black one will have extra thin lenses and a blue light filter coating, the other one without those extras (cause it’s just a spare).

Should arrive in about a week.

Sony MDR-E9LP

Philips SHE 1350

Cause I’m a moron and dropped my favorite pair of earphones in my water cup. They came with my Samsung mp3-player over 10 years ago and I have yet to find a pair of cheapo (and even more expensive ones like 30€ Sennheiser MX518) that sound that good.
Sennheiser and AKG suck when it comes to the cheap earbuds. Had one pair of the MX518 break within 6 months and I think 3 or 4 of some AKG (the first pair was good for a few years but then they changed the wire/cable to a thinner one and those broke within a few weeks, absolute trash).

So now I went for ones that are only about 7,50€. I only need them for my tablet, so nothing fancy is required. But at the same time I don’t want tinny weak sound. Have to try them first, though. Only unpacked the Philips to let the kinks in the cable straighten out a bit.

Much disappoint.
Don’t get me wrong, I know those are ~7,50€ each and that I can’t expect much of them. But they lack almost all bass. They’re not just missing a punchy bass or some oomph, they lack almost all the low frequencies. And the thing that disappoints me about that is that a pair of earbuds that came with my old Creative ext. USB soundcard sound so much better (but the wire is shit and they do that thing where you have to loop the right side around the back of your neck).

I’ll keep them, cause for ~7,50€ they sound decent enough to not complain. But I was kinda expecting more.

So, seeing as there are apparently no nice earbuds being made anymore (or it’s more of a hit and miss/ trial & error situation), I’m slowly accepting the fact that I can’t run away from IEMs anymore if I want better sound on the go (I know that includes the sound files and the PMP too, but yeah).

Linsoul Tin T2

The iem + pmp general on /g/ likes to shit on them a bit but I get the impression that most people who do have IEMs that cost a lot more. Like some cost over $400 or even $1000. I ordered the Tin T2 for 46,99€.
idk, it was kind of an impulse purchase. Hopefully they will be the next thing I’ll use for several years.

Nah, like I said, they were ~7,50€ each. You can listen to basic stuff like YT videos with them but they’re just not good for music. I’ll keep them to have spares around. Maybe put one of them in my bag with the Type C to 3.5mm adapter if I ever want to listen to music when I’m outside (which rarely happens).
