So…I should start organize this shit. Almost lost track of which pair goes with which return label.
New replacement headphones were fucked too. Cable stuffed into the same plasticbag as the headphones, 6.35mm adapter missing, something rattles inside the left earcup (like some very small piece broke off).
Again, not sealed in plastic.
Now I have 2 pairs here which are going back to Amazon, with a 3rd pair (4th so far) on its way to me.
If the next replacement is the same again I’m going to buy somewhere else. Something is very wrong. Either AKG/Harman has gone to shit or some other source Amazon is buying from is a fraud and sells them used stuff.
With Amazon, and audio gear, sometimes you are better off playing the lottery than getting what is advertised for a good deal lol

Just talked to AKG’s support on the phone but got referred to their “outsourced” location in Germany. Wrote them an email about it. Curious what they have to say about it.
What bugs me is that the K702 came with that plastic wrapping around the cardboard packaging, while non of the K712 did. There’s either something shady going on or AKG doesn’t care anymore (was told not to care anymore by Harman/Samsung).
I like the K712 a lot, both in terms of audio quality and comfort. They’re also fairly easy to drive. Those are all reasons why I don’t get a refund and buy a different pair. The HD600 would probably be my next choice but those are 300ohms vs the 62ohms of the K712. And they’re also a step above in regards of price (~330€ vs ~220€).
What I mean is that sometimes its luck of the draw at best whether you get one of the Amazon Certified people or actually the company. Amazon Certified businesses are allowed to carry various stuff and with audio gear sometimes it doesnt end well as they get returns, open box, so forth mixed up as New In Box or whatever. Which messes with the list prices and ends up having what you had happen with the discounted pair that were really just used but listed new.
Generally Amazon is good with stuff but certain things like Audio gear is sometimes quite iffy.
Its less AKG and more Amazon though in this case I think (well Amazon certified businesses)

Sometimes yep. Which is annoying but usually if there’s a problem Amazon will fix it… Then again this time they’ve gotten it wrong multiple times now it appears so. Yeah.
And sometimes the stuff from “Amazon warehouses” is still the certified resellers stuff, as they sometimes have deals with Amazon to store products in the Amazon warehouse for the super fast shipping.
