The only grind you can avoid in WoW is paying for a Level Boost to the max level. But it’s usually stupid as it doesn’t take long and you get to learn to play the class while leveling.
Dunno. Except for dungeons and raids I do everything solo in WoW but because you can use the Dungeon Finder and Looking For Raid tools, those other players might as well be NPCs running with you as there’s usually no interaction with other players needed in raids/dungeons. You get in, play your role and leave when it’s done.
But even if you play alone, there’s that kind feeling “alone but not lonely”.
That and WoW has a shit ton more to do than any other RPG, as new content is added regularly. Add the different classes (order hall story line in Legion expansion), the 2 factions and you’re basically playing 24/7 for several years to be up to date with the content.
Also purchased today was a Roku Express for my bedroom TV and a USB for my printer. I’ve been using my mic USB when I needed to print. Finally convinced myself I should get one for the printer even though I don’t print much.
Well shit lol @kewldude007 I may not bring the crazy mod with to Quakecon anyway. But its not for why you might think…
Its literally cheaper to buy a case and PSU at Frys than ship myself a system, of any kind. Lol.
So will bring all the parts for my rig and build a 2400G system (and possibly a dGPU but not sure yet) and get a case and PSU there. Also monitors. Or even cheaper at Goodwill Computers
Still bringing along the MATX system though as it fits in the suitcase I’ll bring and $20 for a checked bag is fine. But can only bring the one really so. Yeah. Think thats what ill do. Still going to use the mod though… For what; I have no fucking clue; but it also gives me time to find the cringiest possible setup so there’s that lol
Depends on the game. In WoW - for the longest time - leveling wasn’t fun for people who already had other characters on max level. The stories of the quests in the various areas didn’t matter cause you’d be over the areas’ level range before finishing the areas’ quest lines (thus, not getting any/very little XP). And there are areas where the quest hubs are all over the place or have boring quests with lots of distance between them (gather x amount of y, then gather x amount of z - so you have to run back and forth a lot).
The Outlands (Lvl. 58-70) for example aren’t popular and a lot of people avoid questing there by running dungeons. Other areas are generally liked, so leveling is not quite the same experience at every level.
It’s generally recommended - as a new player - to level from 1 to max level and not use a boost. But you can always use the class trial: you can test a class - but not all specs - to see if you like how they play at max level, with a short tutorial that explains the most important skills and if you want you can use a boost on them.
But why boost your very first character? Sure, you can always go back to the lower level areas and do the quests without a hassle to experience the story, but the whole feeling of progress is missing. Gear as reward from quests is useless when you’re at max level and get a shitty green sword while already swinging your mighty artifact weapon.
Then again, you play differently in dungeons/raids than while leveling.
