Surround sound is really just not worth the hassle, is it? I had everything working after 3 hours of toggling every setting, trying every port, and every driver. It of course doesn’t work for YouTube, but for music and Twitch it was fine.
Windows updates, everything is fucked. Center audio works fine when tested, doesn’t play anything at all on any program. Winamp, foobar, Twitch, doesn’t matter. They all can’t stream audio to the center+sub. No configuration changes were made in software but it’s just broken now I guess.
I don’t let software decide any of it if at all possible lol. My onkyo receiver handles all the surround itself, all I have to configure on the windows side is how nice the quality is and the receiver does its thing and its great.

Sorry, that’s a rude answer, but I did just say it was working before and I made zero changes since.
I would do that if a not-shit receiver were less than $50. I have my own stereo receiver that drives both sides, and center goes to the PC. If I disable the sides the center still doesn’t receive audio even with settings that worked literally 2 days ago.
I mean my onkyo reciever is probably only worth $100 now lol. It was originally the best of the best… When 1080P was first a thing and whatnot. So thats like … 8+ years ago now.

Could’ve been some DAC that needs drivers too.
Issues with audio in Windows were the reason I got a dedicated (but inexpensive) DAC/Amp. I don’t trust onboard audio anymore and the software that’s supposed to make it work (same with that shit “virtual surround sound”).
Sometimes simple stuff like that helps. My DAC/Amp only works with Foobar when it’s set to 24bit (even says so in the manual). Cause…idk, magnets probably.
Project Space Writing Report Night Edition:
Started Chapter 5. The main character has a little bit of hope but she is dealing with her issues. In this chapter she is going to get hurt pretty bad. She’ll still win her 2nd fight though. I haven’t written those parts just yet but I’ll get to them.
As I’ve written this story came to realize, no this isn’t going to be a pure horror space story. It will have elements of horror in it but so far they are pretty light.
