Hmā¦plans for today?
Itās around 3:30pm and I already took the 3 pairs of headphones to the post office. Thatās about as āoutside productiveā as it gets for me today.
Disc 1 of 2 of the last season of That 70s Show is ripping currently, so I can start transcoding them later today.
Got some Chinese leftovers from yesterday, so thatās good.
But I feel a bit restless and need to get rid of that energy or else Iām just sitting here like a Chihuahua on caffeine.
Any ideas what I could do that includes my PC/laptop setup?
(like organizing shit. no cable management though, thatās a pain in the ass).

Other than that will probably edit together the LIS stream I did the other day and put it on YT. Which will take hours to upload lolā¦
Have played 600 WoT battles and because I was bored at work started watching supernatural because ???

Thatās -22Ā°C. Fuck, I have no idea when we had temperatures like that the last time. I think -15Ā°C (5Ā°F) was the coldest last year somewhere in the rural/mountain areas.

a couple weeks ago it was -20F with wind chill past -40F
but i live here
it can get really cold lol

Living near water dramatically decreases the temperature.
Youāre also pretty far up north. But according to the climate zones we should be in the same.
Ever taken a piss outside in those temperatures?

Everytime Iāve been in an area with a river, lake or the ocean itās been much colder once the sun set, as compared to cities or even just rural areas with no water.

Nah those are pretty normal temperatures for the middle north continental US over to where I live on the other end of the Great Lakes. It was -25F (-32C) wind chill last week
Weather channels rarely mention wind chill factor. Some started adding it a few years ago.
When our English teacher in highschool mentioned it nobody knew what it was.
I think Iām gonna do some organization on my HDDs.
They all have their dedicated purpose (video, audio, etc) but a lot of the stuff thatās not video is just like throwing unfolded laundry into a drawer.
Especially my audio files. Have a lot of duplicates, lots of improperly tagged files, etc.
And this is why I havent logged onto the Deskthority forum in months lolā¦
They make a good wiki on mechanical keyboards but damn a lot of the people are elitist.

Iām eventually going to add the random 4tb drive I have to my rigā¦ Not that I really need it currently but would be good for lossless 4k recordings or something. (If my 1800X can handle that that is lol)
Why shouldnāt it be able to handle that?
Does 4K require a dual-Xeon machine?
Recording at 4K is very intensive, Iāve tried it on my 1700 before and it barely kept up with it.

lossess 4k takes alot of IO bandwidth and CPU speed if you not saving it in RAW
