About 6FPS in large towns with NPCs roaming around, but out adventuring and in dungeons itā€™s around 15-25FPS. Inside houses or buildings it can reach as high as 32FPS. Some light sources (lanterns and candles) that are part of the structures cause some pretty aggressive frame hitching when rendering, but dynamic sources like torches that you can carry donā€™t.

Itā€™s honestly playable. I was able to walk from Seyda Neen to Balmora without too much of a problem.

The truly annoying part is if I could actually get ahold of a Voodoo 5 6000 with all four GPUs active it would make up all the extra performance needed to play at a constant 30FPS. The problem is those cards are around $1,100 at best if you find one of the 150 owners who will sell theirs.

I used to play csgo a lotā€¦ Some HS friends were really into it. I still fire up the game now and again, though I only really play deathmatch now because reasons.
Might try the actual comp again at some point but meh?

Compared to a DX7 4 ROP / 4 TMU 32MB card from 1999? Yeah, thatā€™s pretty sad. I mean the Voodoo 5 5500 is rated at a whopping 667MPixel/s; or 333MPixel/s per chip. In actual DirectX loads that comes out to around 560MPixel/s just because frame buffer parity (32MBx2) and composition. Just about any IGP from 2004 onward, even with less physical hardware, should smash it in pure pixel pushing. (Though I am running 181MHz on both cores so technically the hardware is closer to the theoretical 667MP/s throughput. Doesnā€™t change the fact that an IGP should smash it.)

Mind you Iā€™m also running beta drivers that work some black magic fuckery to make DX8.1 run like itā€™s DX7. DX8.1 requires fancy shit like hardware accelerated transform and lighting (something that 3Dfx had emulation for but no hardware support yet) and programmable pixel pipelines (again, no hardware support since VSA-100 is completely fixed-function pipelines).

Its linux (4.19.9) so shouldnt be completely shitty drivers. Pcworld claims this laptop has this graphics processor in it. Intel GMA4500
