Bored and reading manga… no clients until 4, then the one after (which is the last one) is at 6…
usually the last appointment comes late so I’ll probably not get home until 7. And unless we charge those 2 clients I have left a ton I’ll be making far less than the average I’ve been doing per day. RIP me.
Edit: Just did the math and I’ll probably end up with slightly above minimum wage today…
That’s the problem with this job, one day you’re making 100/hr the next you can end up with less than minimum wage.
While you do have a point, it does involve more effort to set it up. And emulators don’t always run hassle free. It’s convenience vs price and exclusivity (aka walled garden).
Actually being serious for a bit though; For me it’s a mix of that I’ll never buy anything from Nintendo, and also all the games I play are on PC with so much better quality that it’s rather amusing seeing just how low res the switch is.
But meh. I also don’t do any mobile gaming ever, and I don’t even use laptops for that matter so there’s that.
They kinda had to compromise as it can be both used portable and docked. More pixels to push on a small display = more powerdraw = less playtime per charge.
I never played the original consoles in the 90s so I could give less of a damn. And until recently, Nintendo basically made it impossible to make any content about Nintendo so that among the crushing the various remakes and mods of their old games (I don’t like when devs/game companies do that in general) so I basically am never getting anything Nintendo made.
(Yes I could technically get around it by buying used but meh)
Yes that is correct, the switch can do up to 1080p60 when docked. Its also a gray area because the switch also does dynamic resolution e.g. it will down scale in realtime if a lot is going on in favour of making the game run smoother.
My problem with a switch is, It’s too expensive for how little I’d ever use it. Mariokart and super mario are great, never played any zelda so that’s whatever, other games are neat, but most are on pc anyway (or easily emulated on there).
Meanwhile EA and Ubisoft exist too while shitting out iteration after iteration of annual incomplete full price games. At least Nintendo makes sure their games don’t need huge day 1 patches.
I more or less have only bought one game from Ubisoft and it ended up being the wrong one lol… Wanted Ass Creed Odyssey, but ofc Ubi being Ubi they didn’t have it on steam, only Origins. Oh well.
Otherwise I haven’t bought a game from them for years, because there’s been nothing good from either since … Basically Battlefield Bad Company. The first one.
And on the Ubi side, basically Assassin’s Creed II and the various expansion games up to Revelations we’re the last good games they made (which is at this point a 7 year old game )
All big publishers are basically shit now, with a few exceptions. From what I understand CDPR is good but I didn’t like Witcher 1 or 2 so meh idk, maybe?
Other than that I don’t know of any good devs/publishers unless they are indie ones or small.
Black Flag was fun. Not as an Assassin’s creed game, but a pirate simulator with some borrowed mechanics. I spent far more time murdering the crew of enemy ships than anything else in the game (and I’ve almost got 100% completion lol).
I got Rogue with a gift card so technically I only sort of bought it but I like it for the same reason, it does have a tolerable to decentish story but mostly it’s just a sailing simulator that happens to be in an Assassins Creed world lol.
The other reason I like Rogue is it’s Black flag, but way less broken, and set on the east coast instead of the carribean(ish).
I should probably get the other Assassin’s Creed games… I loved the series when it came out, then they made AC 3 and I just lost interest because it was clear they were just extending the story to milk cash at that point. It very easily could’ve been one of the best game series if not for that.
Do they actually have something that’s not related to the Witcher franchise?
Seems like all their good rep comes from not putting microtransactions into their games and GoG selling DRM-free games.
Ass Creed 3 killed all the good characters lol, I semi enjoyed it until the end and then I pretty much stopped playing any games that were in the series for 4 years. Lol. Not to mention the fact that it turned from an interesting open world game in Revelations to a stupid loot and achievement hunting game, just to make it have “more content” that’s really all the same just with slight differences in what you need to collect.
Reason I will play Rogue: almost zero future day timeline bullshit. Mostly is just playing in the old timeline.
