The Lounge 0001 [From the Beginning]

Sazae san is the longest running anime in existence by far at over 7k episodes. (don’t bother)

Detective conan and one piece are both in the 900s.

Yu Yu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter are both over 100 episodes.

I’ve heard good things about Ranma 1/2 which is 161 episodes.

The only German dub I approve and am impressed of. They stopped a few years ago after ~333ep but I think the studio picked them up again. Don’t know where I can watch em, though.

Like shorts or full length episodes? How is it still going? Even the author of One Piece took a break.

Watched half an episode. Meh.

Watched that as a kid on German TV. Also meh. Inuyasha and Sailor Moon too.

Also, there are a ton more anime with lots of episodes.
Naruto, One Piece, Fairy Tail, Monogatari Series, Dragonball, JoJo, SWO, etc.

It’s been going since the late 60s.

It’s basically a slice of life comedy that has adapted to fit the times. Based on a comic strip. So it’d be like if Dilbert, Blondie, or Peanuts got a show (iirc peanuts did get a show).

Or another example would be it’s the Japanese version of The Simpsons.

Each episode is comprised of 3 segments so over 7500k segments / 3 = roughly 2.5k 30 minute episodes.

As for other long running anime there’s Gintama which is extremely highly rated.

Dr Slump Arale-Chan (original run) was 243 episodes. Made buy the guy who made dragonball before he made dragonball and unlike dragonball it’s purely comedy.

There’s also The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. which is 120 episodes (5m/ep) and has a sequel season of 24 full length episodes.

Having spent a week using the Switch Lite here is my very quick take on it. The construction definitely feels cheaper, however its still very sturdy and robust more so it feels than the OG Switch, if anything I’d be way less worried dropping my Switch Lite and having it survive than I would my OG Switch.

The form factor of the Lite for handheld stuff is 100% better, its reduced weight and size makes it feel great to hold in your hands for longer gaming sessions and I can’t stress this enough the buttons on the Lite are absolutely amazing. there nice and clicky with very good feedback and don’t feel as mushy as the regular one. Honestly, going back to Mario Kart 8 which I haven’t played in months I managed to beat my time by 5 seconds the first try and I put them down 100% to the way the Lite feels when using it, plus and the battery life on this thing is insanely good.

TL:DR If you want a Nintendo Switch just get the Lite unless you REALLY need to hook it up to a television. The Switch Lite is just the better console with a more cohesive experience for handheld gaming and that is what the Switch excels at the most.

may make another thread and go deep into how it compares having spent more time with it but thats my quick summary on the Lite.

Nicely summed up.
The only thing I’d criticize about both Switch models is that the screen scratches so easily.
As Zach mentioned in the video Nintendo probably went with a plastic screen over a glass one because plastic doesn’t shatter when it’s been dropped. Getting a screen protector is still a necessity.

Oh, and the colors of the Switch Lite. Not a fan. At all.
Not being able to connect the Lite to a TV at all is a bit disappointing though.
And the Joy Con drift issue is still concerning.

Plus, apparently Nintendo is working on a new model of the Lite, as documents from the FCC seem to confirm. No idea what’s different though.

IF I ever buy a Switch it would be a model where the joy con drift and BT issues aren’t present anymore.

This. They are all so ugly

anyone wonder why I got the gray one XD

That Pokemon though I have no idea what they were thinking.

Cause there’s no black Lite and but you still wanted something that matches the color of your soul that’s been killed by capitalism and conformists?

Special Edition colors for the rest of the world when?
Japan-only console colors are discrimination! Racism! Boycott Ninturdo!

what about the jap only consoles, and games?

no region locking

^ this. The only region locking the Nintendo Switch has is for the eshop. I.E eshop codes for games/DLC aren’t transferable between regions but game carts 100% are.

More color options = more better.
The Monster Hunter PSP looked cool. And the Metroid 3DS.

they probs were too lazy to add one when they lifted the design lel

lifted from where? the gamecarts, LOTUS3 ASIC, and even the SPI bus it uses for communication are all proprietary to Nintendo. The gamecarts themselves are even cryptographically signed so Nintendo can tell literally every individual card or image of one from each other. The mechanisms for region locking is already there its just not enabled and they could very well just patch it in if they wanted to.

Sorry for the brief downtime over the past 30 minutes or so. My internet cutout (modem was deined access to the network) so they were possibly doing upgrades? but it looks to be working again now though :crossed_fingers:
