gn did their tests with a 5ghz 8core or whatev, and the frame pacing looking like something bottle neck still at 1080p lol, like 2080ti only like 15% faster than 1080ti but average framerate like 45% faster
then you go to 4k and somehow 1080ti is like a 580/390x < guess also pounding vram given 970 and 470/570(4gb) getting dogged also
Just a heads up but I’m just about to paint the walls around my server gear. Its on a UPS so I should be able to move it without any downtime but if it does know that I have failed and am truely sorry.

Going to have to keep myself entertained tomorrow (and possibly the day after) for ~8h without my PC.
They’re doing some plumbing work in our apartment complex and there’s strict flushing prohibition. And cause I’m not a disgusting mouthbreathing bottle pisser I’m going to my mom’s.
Not sure if I should bring both my tablet and laptop. Her internet’s not the best (like, if Windows is downloading updates on her laptop I can’t do anything else, YT videos won’t load, websites take forever to load, etc) and with the relatively small SSD in my laptop (256GB) there’s not much room for media.
So I’m not sure if just my tablet would be enough.
TV channels are barely qualified for background noise (everything’s in German, tons of ad breaks, terrible shows), so that won’t do for entertainment.
Any tips what you usually do when you don’t have access to your main PC and internet is meh?

Actually do work around the house normally, if it’s already late and internet cuts out I’ll just go to bed. Earlier and I’ll play guitar, or work on a number of different hobbies I have.

Now I mostly just play on my Nintendo Switch or if its a fairly long time I’ll bring my laptop and play something I can get sucked into for hours like Factorio because it really passes the time. though in those cases I almost always have mobile data on my phone too and can just tether and browse the internet and such.

Not sure if I even have any games installed on my laptop. Even if, they’re probably just some old slow games (cause i5-5200U w/ iGPU). Does the XBOX controller with the dongle work on Fedora? (like plug and play)
Switch or phone are my goto. After that i just goto the makerspace and fuck around Recently organized a tool drawer here

I watch YouTube/Netflix on my phone usually. That or go out to a bar/restaurant and then wander around or whatever. Or go do something interesting that’s local.
