Work is exceptionally boring lately. Otherwise enjoying working on the Volvo (the light switch replacement finally arrived) so will be messing with that today. Will see about doing an oil change and coolant change after the lights are working again.

Been playing a lot of random games on PC otherwise tho

like ski free?

I.e. ones that are completely different from each other lol. Black Ops 1 some, World of tanks, Warthunder, mount & blade. And then also PlanetSide 2 for some reason, but that one in particular is still the same as last time I played… When I feel like playing Halo but without MS bs (and wayyy bigger battles) I play PS2 lol.

Oh also watched a lot of YouTube stuff

those are all the same bruh you simulating military battles

just different time periods

Got the XBO controller today (the padding inside was a joke again. just a small piece of crumbled up paper as an alibi).
But the 8bitdo controller apparently was misdirected and is now on its way back to Amazon.
Customer support is writing in broken German right now. Gotta see how this turns out.

Update: getting a refund and ordered it again (plus a case for when I take it with me so I don’t bust up the analog sticks in my bag)

Different topic: the plugable BT USB adapter I ordered with the Broadcom chip was annoying to get to run. Windows 10 driver search was useless. Found a driver, installed it but always got “Code 10” in the device properties (with the cute little yellow triangle in device manager). The drivers from plugable’s website were also useless.
I found a set of drivers for this chip by accident on a site for HP laptops that matched the chip number (BCM20702). Installed it and now it works like a charm. Although, I don’t get the tray icon for easier use (have to go to devices and do stuff from there…but better than nothing).
It feels nice having managed to solve this issue but at the same time the feeling of utter dislike for annoying troubleshooting, driver madness and unhelpful help threads online is overshadowing the good feeling of success.

What? Was I mislead to think that’s a good thing in BT dongles?
If Broadcom sucks then what#s the “safe” choice when it comes to BT dongle chips?

Texas Instruments and Qualcomm Atheros ones are generally pretty good.

Sooo, am I good to go now that I got it working or should I rather get a BT dongle with one of those?

well If its working fine and your happy with it now you should be good.

Happy and working fine are relative (especially now since you put doubt in my mind).
It’s working in the way that it lets me connect my phone (and send files) and XBO controller but there’s no tray icon for easy access (have to go into settings -> Bluetooth and do things from there if I want to send files to my phone.

90% of the issues with Broadcom are the drivers and getting them to work in the first place. though the icon thing seems more like a Windows issue than anything else.
