Steam did a weird today. Bought Hollow Knight on Steam cause it was on sale for cheap (7€ or so) even though I already have it on GoG. Went to start the game and for some reason Steam took the save file from my GoG installation.
Is this cause I have Steam linked with GoG? That’s fucking weird.

Its likely just that the save game location on your computer is the same for both versions and Steam just picked it up and cloud synced it.

I wish those save files weren’t hidden in cryptic locations so it’s easier to find them.

But it seems that you are indeed correct. When I played it on Steam I started a new game so now there are 2 save files. Checked in GoG just now and yes, the 2nd save shows up there too now.

If you can’t find them either in your Documents or Saved Games folder they are probably in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\ espcially so for cloud synced and auto saved games. its how I lost my really far Dark Souls 2 save because I didn’t think to check AppData before a reinstall.

Nah, no luck with that. Nothing under \Roaming. The folder is under \LocalLow\ but even there is no save file. Just files that start with “user1” or “user2”. .dat/.bak files.

According to this its in C:\Users\Username\AppData\LocalLow\Team Cherry\Hollow Knight

Yes, but there’s only .bat and .bak files in there (plus a txt file and a crash folder).
cats

there not bat files there dat files. I.E data files that hold the saved data. the .baks are also just the backups of the same saved data encase of corruption.

Yeah, my mistake.

I didn’t know that those are the save files cause in the case of GoG forum posts people were pointing at .sav files, so I was looking for that.

Cutting another one yet or just refining it again so it comes out better?

cutting another one after fixing the files so it stops crashing the lasercutter XD
