have a couple drives like that but depending on use doesnt really matter, read speed is still not that bad, is just massive writes take a long time(on my 8tb like over 200gb)so if only write 50-100gb at a time once in awhile or something prolly wouldnt even notice after the intial dumping assload tbs of stuff
prolly be more annoying for the smaller drives if also smaller portion of the faster write part, like if it was only 50gb for a 2tb, or 100gb for a 4 or something
I pretty much exclusively use Seagate 2/4tb drives or⦠I think I still have one random WD Velociraptor 1tb which afaik isnāt effected. As for hdds thatās all I have, my intel pcie ssd is still my main drive for OS etc
Unrelated;
Now Iām in a job training course finally and actually learning my job, lol. Itās nice and usually⦠Maybe. 6 hours of work a day. Instead of 12s so thatās nice. Though being on days when I sunburn so easily sucks but meh we are inside mostly.
Also hi
kinda but not really. I have a single 4TB Seagate ST4000DM004 drive in my server that is an SMR drive but its mostly used for backup storage with the main drives in the server being the SSD boot drive an a 4TB Toshiba high performance X300 drive which the forums are running and isnāt SMR.
Lol, no itās windy and Iām a maintainer we just have to deal with it
Aggravating part is that I burn quickly, but I also sweat a ton so sunscreen⦠Not entirely pointless but still pretty much pointless
I have gone from 15min burn time to⦠An hour. Iāll⦠Maybe get tan someday
Yeah, full uniform generally. But can layer down if itās hot/layer up if itās cold. But the big one for me is thereās no hats allowed except cold weather ones. So my neck up burns a lot.
hmm :x was gonna say they got sun hoodies for at beach and stuff is like a poly blend/fake silk to a sports jersey kind of thing but as a thin hooded long sleeve lots of bright neons and stuff, breaths alot but blocks sun
Nope but i would be ABSOLUTELY pissed if they did this too me. Loose 1 drive and your in a situation where time is key to making sure you keep your data. Knowingly selling me a drive that you know is not designed for its advertised purpose is just bad. Even more so when its takes an extra 6 fucking days to restore data to a SMR drive compared to a normal one
Not to mention that fact that in those 6-9 days of rebuilding the chance of killing another drive and losing the entire array are massively increased due to this too.
Yep. Nothing more a drive likes than having its entire contents dumped, lots of fancy math done on the content, and then writing a entire drive worth of stuff back
Tonights meal. Spanish Rice + Ground hamburger. Actually better than i was expecting. The sauce packet went really heavy on the tomato āessenceā and is a bit overwhelming
Despite the picture not turning out as well thay does sound really nice. Iām currently eating a pizza for ābreakfastā because why not I guess. Is pretty good but its one of those pizzas are thin enough have to eat with a knife and fork.
Wait, wait, wait, hold up.
I know youāre gonna think āItās Michael, the pizza looks normal. And this is whatās bothering you?ā but yeah, itās exactly that.
Why are you eating you pizza like that when thereās not enough space for the whole plate? Why not gut it in slices and then eat it with your hands? This seems kinda dangerous (for your lap and for the poor pizza).
