Also air quality just took a dive
I’ll be annoyed if I get messed up like the guys in the oil field did in the 90s. Oh well.

Is there a possibility to get evacuated again?
Possible. I half unpacked, ready to leave again just in case. There’s a possibility winds could shift and bring fires closer. At this point something like 5% contained (technically 0 but fire berms and preemptive burns have been done to mitigate risk of fire getting to the base). How effective they will be if the fire comes back is anyone’s guess but basically the fire is doing whatever it wants. Just the LNU fire was 215k acres burned last night. There’s 5 other major fires in CA.
Are those out of season fires? iirc California has those every year around the same time.
Normally it’s fire season but over the last week there’s been 11,000+ lightning strikes combined with a dry year, and the fact that over the last week the humidity has been extremely low overnights so it’s only added to the fires.
So literally everything that could go wrong, has.
On top of that, due to corona, all the prison inmates that normally would supplement the fire department, have been let free. So fire departments are critically undermanned.
I’ve just learned today that in the US prison mates are used to help out with the fire departments. I didn’t know that.
And they were released due to corona? Just like that? Is that like a pardon or are they supposed to come back again?
“we don’t want them to get corona hurr Durr”
Because idk Cali I guess
The idea for them helping the fire department is if they do well it makes parole that much easier, etc.
Also the stats for the combined fires are 500k acres and counting burned. Holy fuck that’s a lot.
There’s gotta be a limit to who they let out, right? Like, letting someone out who got in for murder doesn’t sound smart.
Also, ages ago when I was danger close to the refinery explosion in my hometown of Superior, everything was handle well, people were evacuated, in an orderly manner, to a safe distance with plenty of time and planning. On top of which in under 24 hours literally every oil fire fighter agency was at the scene or on the way
Meanwhile in California, the shit show is unreal. I wasn’t given the order to evac until the fire was less than 5miles away. … Yeah.
They just willy nilly were like “oh you have corona? Get out” lol.
Crimes committed didn’t matter so a bunch of people are just on the streets again now and then a fire happens and they normally would’ve been helping but nooo
So, in short: Cali is fucked? Is this some big set up for a realistic disaster movie by James Cameron? Did he plan for all this to happen?
Fires.
A deadly global virus.
Murderers being released from prisons.
THIS SUMMER. Keanu Reeves. Asa Akira. Narrated by Morgan Freeman.
PANDEMIC FIRE-MURDERER-NADO
Rated M for Mature.
Pretty much lol. Dumbass leadership (my specific leadership is pretty good, I mean at the city/state level) combined with everything that could go wrong.
What’s creepy is literally all of those things he mentioned happened lol
I like his stuff.
One that sometimes pops up in my mind is the one about soft language.
Like from shell shock > battle fatigue > operational exhaustion > post traumatic stress disorder.
Or the one about fat people and consumerism. Sauteed racoon assholes on a stick.
This one is universal and at the same time feels so American it’s almost scary.
you mean califonia is the state version of trump?
were gonna build a fire suppression system like no ones ever seen its gonna be yuge, its gonna be spectacular, adn the arsonists are gonna pay for it
Lol no, exact opposite
" We are ready for anything"
Shit hits the fan
“What the fuck do we even do”
>corona response
lel
is still pretty funny though, when always on about anything that goes wrong is the mainstream republicans fault or whatever/fence post voters that dont go hard line dem
when they have pretty locked in control in their state(not as much as some on the eastern seaboard but) and assload of rich people/really high income to be able to tax from but still fucc up so much shit
would guess not so fun local elections but idk
oil fire in the kitchen
Cali: we have everything under control
pours water on it, whole building is on fire
Cali: our response to the situation is the best, ask anyone. actually a firefighter friend of mine, a very brave and capable person, says I’m the best at dealing with fires.
sup nibbas besides smokey over there
