were like wear a mask and all this would stop look at the rest of the world
and most of the areas were like pick and choose who has to just stay at home and die, not if you comply with these health regulations then you can stay open, just if you dont sell shit mr gov says is essential then you get to go bankrupt become homeless etc
where do say food service people go to get jobs, if 50% of all nicer resteaurants all get shut down permanently, the mcdonalds which already has high school kids? when they used to work a high end steak place or something prolly only make 1/2 as much and get no hours
i mean if they paid utilities, rent, property taxes whatever and all the workers wages during, sure they could then stay open for after this, but when you tell them its illegal for you to try to make money, we will literally send a swat apc and arrest you by force with armor machineguns and shit(happened in tx at a bar) and you pay rent, taxes, whatever until you run out of money, lose all your employees
ye but in us, only get unemployment for a period of time, and usually had to be working at job that was paying special tax to pay into that system
after months of no work when they start to okay time to get jobs, has been mostly all small businesses, restaurants etc that were hammered, all will be left is walmarts and fast food, takeout places fine mostly, but your sit down steaks and stuff dont do well at all when they are cold
when they did the rent thing pretty sure was only, you just cant be evicted for not paying, like in some states have a thing where they cant shut off your heat in the winter, they can shut it down after, and then not turn it on until you back pay all of it, they also didnt stop property taxes, mortgages, commercial leases(significantly more expensive then an apartment), loans etc
Thatâs why the $1200 Trump Bux arenât that much cause itâs already gone before the next month and payments donât wait for the next wave of stimulus checks.
unemployed people got the same 1200, and 2400 a month ontop of normal unemployment(think the extra 2400 stopped though)
but it appears they just spent it on dumb shit though
edit: had some people commit fraud and stuff too lol, quit say they got fired/try to get fired to get 2x income basically and do nothing at same time
but cant get that when you own a business, so until they get bled dry/go bankrupt and have commercial lease ended and such, cant do jack if you get told you dont sell the right type of goods to stay open
yeah, as if saving it was a stupid idea in a time where a pandemic is killing people and businesses.
I get that people are frustrated and want distraction, and that stores rely on people buying their stuff, but that new hobby stuff you just spent $1200 on isnât gonna pay your rent and food next month if you lose your job.
but at the same time youâre gonna lose your business and have to lay off people if nobody spends money in your store and instead saves it all up.
well,âŚnot amazon or any other filthy rich company that doesnât give a shit about the lowest tier of their employees and treats them like replaceable cattle. those will still lay off staff even if they make record profits.
well that part wasnt quite an issue if they got fired atleast, then they get the unemployment +2400 a month if they got fired/laid off anyways
but more the dumb kid thing where they got money so they must spend it,
where if you were only makin 1500 a month, then get laid off and get upto 3~3.5k or something, doubt many of them saved the extra money
edit: least some of them got new cars which actually not that bad if their old car was shitty/had 0% interest at some places for like 60~72 months and stuff, would atleast be a good return on the money, or save for downpayment money/retirement
Thatâs IF your state has laws for that and you donât just get kicked out, tough luck, buddy.
And if even if you still have a job but get the rona, have fun paying the hospital bills + rent + etc.
the extra monies was federal atleast, but had to be laid off/fired, or if you were like freelance/self employed and just no work(apparently thru some expanded what qualifies)
people could get the bonus money if got rona, like even if they just had symptoms and had to stay home for 14days could qualify
idk. itâs kinda difficult to come up with a system that gives help to those who need it so itâs more efficient on the budget but without overlooking someone. and also creating a system that isnât easy to exploit (cause there will always be walking shitstains who only look out for themselves and screw over others).
like, halt all rent/mortgage/tax/electricity/internet/tv/etc payment for 1-2 months and give the companies and stores 80% of what they make each month on average from the government.
at least here the government is giving 80% of what store made last year at the same time until the lockdown is over (instead of 10 days itâs now from next Tuesday until the end of November; kinda surprised itâs that long and on top of that a curfew, thatâs new).
depending on state anyways, was like 3+ months the first time where they just got to be like if you dont meet our list of necessary then you are just shut down
Here they introduced reduced working hours. Means they work less hours and also get less money but at least they keep their jobs AND insurance.
But they introduced it too late and companies were quick to lay off tons of people.
getting alcohol is only critical for alcoholics. while the addiction sucks, going cold turkey can be dangerous.
yeah, the karens.
imagine how much easier it would be to fund all those who are struggling âin these uncertain timesâ if big companies paid their fair share of taxes and the government actually used it for the people.
ye but when the gov shut down your business and wont give you anything what else can you do?
but isnt just for alcoholics is for usual jackoffs that want a case of beer or something to do, they could just be like call this number for free rehab during this time
say you are a tailor, maybe a cloth store is necessary for you?
to the gov no, to the people that could buy masks from you but you cant get fabric, also no because see gov
the gov gets to arbitrarily illegally decide if you can or cannot make a living, and in most cases offers you nothing
I mean getting a hair cut in general. itâs not essential.
there are more important things to worry about during a pandemic, even though maintaining ânormalityâ in every day life is desirable up to a certain point.
itâs an exceptional situation and in this case it affects the whole world. putting oneâs wants behind everyoneâs needs and looking out for each other should be more important than inconveniencing others because of selfish demands.
ye but after you already allowing things which are not in any way necessary, like will people literally die if the chinese takeout place was closed?
or is the chinese place basically the same thing as going to a bar, a game store, a movietheatre, its you want a different experience then getting something from the grocery store and making it yourself
but in general it depends who you ask what is or not, like to the home builder, the homeless deathspot is necessary, they need nails and wood etc, but ask someone different, and no people dont need to go to lowes and look at fridges or a new air frier
but is just 1 guy in my state atleast that gets to decide who gets to go bankrupt or not, probably gonna lose lawsuits if the courts arent bunch of douches after this, for picking and choosing, not along a strict guideline, or say for a reason they could actually enforce/mandate, like if they refused to comply with health standards at a restaurant
yeah, those might very well be considered essential. what if youâre in the middle of building a house or have a leaking roof or the fridge dies or (like in my motherâs case) a fuse blows and you suddenly have no electricity in your entire home and the earliest the electricity company can send someone is 2 days later (when most of the shit in your fridge is spoiled, and that during a pandemic and while thereâs a lockdown).
what is essential? are pc parts essential? well, if you make a living working on your own private pc at home, then Iâd say yes. without it you canât do your job and thus no one pays you. (like if youâre freelance or self-employed).
but what about all those who donât need their pc for work? do you then start selling hardware only to those who can provide proof of their need with some sort of certificate?
are gun shops essential? just asking out of curiosity. there arenât many here and the one that I know always looks like itâs closed and no oneâs in there, so I have no idea if they were closed during the first lockdown here.
gov gets to say no anyways and pc store goes under, and you get to lose all your money too
isnt like some formal known if it passes these 3 questions then it can stay open if you follow guidelines, just yes or no his discretion
in some states atleast, since there has been lawsuits about it already, and people will sue them and probably win if they try, to say people dont have a right to buy self defense tools
like some states gyms are open, some no, entirely upto their discretion, since most is just gov signing an executive order like we will fine you 10k$ if you dont shut down, no actual law, nothing they cant be sued over and should lose
in my state was like, have to sell clothing, food, be a restaurant, liquor store, gas station, auto parts, mechanics/oil change/tire places, or like sell house hold cleaning/tp or something, lumber yards/plumbing/electrical etc parts, dr whatever stuff
that there was places just start stocking a bunch of tp or something and then be able to be open
but say your a machine shop that makes parts that people need to make that house or gun or whatever, well fucc you stay at home and lose everything youâve ever worked for, even though you make the things they are saying people need to access
