Yup a new one for this season called Poputepipiku. Description made it sound alright, but damn was that misleading. I like a bit of randomness and meta humor (a la Excel Saga) but this was just… It’s like they took a bunch of comic strips from hugely varying times and slapped them together to fill up 20 minutes. Not even good comic strips either. It felt like they’d start a joke and not finish it, or the punchline was just terrible. I gave it a 3 and I feel like I’m being too generous.

Intel is really messing this up. Have you read this on the mailing list? From what I can gather the CPUs with the fix will be vulnerable by default and have to query the kernel to enable it. This is really bad because it replies on an up to date kernel to apply the fix that is already there.

Oh, cool. Gave a friend of mine a GtX 950 a while back as an upgrade from 2x 6970s and he’s been super happy with it so offered to give me both the old cards for free.

Will have some moar mining power soon, and possibly could do a video on gaming performance if anyone wants me to? Or just bench them a bit on ryzen or whatever.

Meh, not sure. Could just bench here in the lounge and stuff too lol as there’s been a lot of stuff done on it already. Though probably not with modern games lol
That said ill have to nuke the drivers on any system I use with it as the cards only work with legacy ones and modern ones just refuse to even display sooo

Just went to the post office to get my new headphones (not the K712…still waiting for the shop to call).
Finally headphones again.
I might get a different cable for it, though. The long one that comes with it is reeaaaally sproingy.

Lol I knew this was how this was going to end up but people on reddit and stuff didnt believe me.
I pretty much figured that the features either a) didn’t exist or b) weren’t implemented as they caused issues or didn’t bring performance benefits like AMD would have liked
And lo and behold the features aren’t enabled and the only way for them to be is if the game devs code for it and well we all know what that means lol

I seem to recall a certain instruction set that got pretty widely adopted… but I’m not sure if that was before or after they licensed it out to Intel who then proceeded to stab them in the back insert insanely high number here times.

Short term verdict of the Sennheiser HD 598 SR:
- Yes, they really seem to be a good deal for gaming.
- Metal sounds good. They’re fun for that, but classical music or genres that put more emphasis on higher mids and highs, no. Kinda like the M40x.
- Headband cushion not replaceable anymore (was on htt OG HD 598 andHD 598 SE). It’s still comfortable but the old one was much thicker AND replaceable. Not a good change at all. Shame on Sennheiser for cheaping out here.
- Lots of plastic. Doesn’t really feel cheap, though, especially considering the current price on Amazon Germany.
- Long cable is a tight fit.
- Comfort out of the box is okay. Get a bit uncomfortable after ~2h of uninterrupted use. I hope this gets better over time.
- Ear pad could be softer.
Overall nice headphones for the price, but once you get a taste of the more expensive stuff you get spoiled.
This is really irrelevant, but I’m disappointed they went all-black and abandoned the iconic beige/brown.

Since I’ve pretty much finished the 1st chapter of my fantasy story, I would like some feedback on it. If anyone here is interested send me a pm and I’ll give you a link to pdf of the first chapter.

- Did you want to read more after the first page?
- Did you want to read more after the end of the chapter?
- What are your impressions of the main character?
- Is the flow alright?
- What do you think of the story so far?
I do know it needs grammar and spelling fixes but that is what an editor is for. Don’t worry about that.
