The Lounge 0001 [From the Beginning]

ye mean when they were sending stuff to press/have release information or whatever for launch, to have big chart for each chip showing all the threads/temps etc conditions would be way more information than even like gamers nexus would show people

be like spread sheet or multi axis graphs or something like temp/heat/power, threads used/percent utilization

for youtube experiment dunno, so far ticks up and down randomly kinda, but has been like 25~30k views a month on low end for long time now, almost 300 subs idk. started another game as a lets play, but gonna try uploading that one once a week so its 3 vids a week and see if that does anything, last time did a different game, i just uploaded first one normal push to subs etc, then did the silent publish for the rest of the episodes/dropped them all same day as soon as uploaded/processed

least for setup currently using with obs and title cards in obs and stuff, almost no impact at all to gaming setup other than controlling background noise/hoping dont get interrupted etc, other than starting to run into alot of storage space kinda, got over a 100 episodes of drunk aram, 1080p30, like 7hrs of dead island 1080p30 as 1hr ea, mean got it set to the use more cpu for better file size but good quality option, but not that small could transcode i guess if keep getting farther ahead of upload schedule

And another old one that just works. This one even has the base station as well

Doing some drive scrubbing for these, possibly going to sell them but at the least going to erase them both.

Ones an old Athlon 2.1ghz pavilion he other is a centrino based XP era machine with 2gb ram. The pavilion is in pretty rough shape but since both work probably like $40-50 which is somewhat surprising but I mean I guess people like older laptops

got any radioshack stuff? :stuck_out_tongue:

Probably somewhere in the stack of shit lol

lol cool

Just got a whole bunch of newer thinkpads (25of them) in that are mainly t430s, and like 50 micron and lite on SSDs that are 128gb. A few rando 256 and 480 but the ssds after I wipe them will be really nice to throw in random laptops that work to either put linux or win10 on, and sell them that way.

Also got irritated with how slow my late 08 MBP is (it’s not that it’s terribly slow but it’s definitely noticeable) so picked up a mid 2010 with an i5 and a GT330m dgpu for $130. And then will sell the late 08 for like $100 with some rando HDD in it. Amusingly for double to triple the performance I’ll only have paid essentially $50 for the new one (after fees and taxes etc)

Also, got an early 2011 13” MBP to work today, put el cap on it. Has an i7 2670qm but only intel HD 3000 iGPU since it’s a 13”.

Thing gets toasty since it’s a quad core i7 in a 13” but they still go for $150-300 so put it up for 150 since it’s pretty beat to hell. But everything works so

And so it begins, lol

One of 50

On the plus side, almost all the ssds are 128gb so low level formats are easy enough

Edit
Also found a Core 2 based system laying around

And an Apevia case lol

evga tho lol

Got all the ssds sorted, got a bunch of 320 series intel 160gbs, a number of Samsung 128s and a couple rando Kingston 240s. And then a whole shit ton of Micron and Lite-on 128gb SSDs

Now to nuke them all lol
And then put them in the t430s and other laptops here. I might use the earlier mentioned Poweredge T610 to do 8 drives at once, will see about that.

hacking away at this old 5450 to see if I can get it to work in the x8 slot. Since all the GPUs that come in x1 or x4/8 are either really terrible or really expensive.

Just need to get rid of two more pins and it should work

uh, wouldn’t it have been eaiser to just cut down plastic on the back of the PCIe slot so you could like insert it without mutilating the pins on the card lol?

Well yes sort of. I only have a big ass serrated knife here though and I don’t feel like bringing my dremel to work. But also I’d rather mess up a $5 gpu than a $300ish server

lel my first gen apu(brazos) e350 had basically that gpu but clocked to 500mhz

Put 8 of the 128gb ssds in and otherwise testing the t610 while laptops install windows and updates etc. the raid controller is pretty good for how old it is now

New(er) mid 2010 MBP arrived, it’s miles better than the Core 2 based one. Not to mention, having a real GPU that can actually switch between iGPU and dGPU under load is nice as well.

now to update it to High Sierra from el cap. Also, this MBP has a backlit keyboard which is useful, unlike the late 08 that either didn’t come with one or had it broken.

well thats ur problem rite there

lel, ye working shiz is nice tho

after quite a while, got it fully updated and set up with 10.13, and the battery despite having almost 1000 cycles, is still at 82% of its original capacity so thats nice.

so far internet things are much better, actually able to watch 720p60 and 1080p60 videos for example, and games run moderately better (but still pretty slowly, lol).
might try and get ahold of a 2012 mbp 15" after this one… then again meh, since the upgrade of GPU (from 330M to 650M) is most of the difference, otherwise will be very similar so probably not worth $200 to try. then again… i might do it anyway lol.

otherwise, at work have sold 21 laptops so far. plus a few in store, in about 15 days. been real busy just shipping them all out, but it’s going to be nice when they all do sell to have space to put new laptops when they are done. still have around 250 more to sell tho…

so far seems like the 3 uploads a week was better route then dumping whole thing at once lol
