Oh also.
And that’s not counting the parts for the keyboard I’m building into the case with a display in it instead of a numpad.

oh they are by choice, just like the 20 or so GPUs and like ~ 7 systems but only 3 are built atm sooo yeah

and sold ~ $5000 worth of tech recycling in the past 1.5 years
most of which went to buying my van but still
i really need to start hustling again so i can buy MOAR THINGS and sell them lol

It’s a good thing you don’t live in the cities anymore you’d buy the stuff faster than you could get rid of it and end with more hardware then square footage in your house.

it’d be great if i was in the cities actually could do recycling as a real job not just as a hobby because people actually have stuff in the cities to recycle
here theres not enough people to make it worthwhile other than random finds every few months

I live pretty close to a big city and that is actually a really good job to have. is soo much stuff thrown out by businesses and the like and even in the suburbs there is enough to easily make a living from that.

yep
at the recycling place i go to usually depending on the mix of stuff i have 500 lbs usually is between $50-100
so if i load up my van with the 1500lb max it can safely do it’s like $100-300 depending on what i have, which is easily enough for gas and then profit
and that’s without selling any of the parts or anyhting (if there’s any that are worth selling that is).

yea over here it is a little hard to get into though because its heavily regulated and you need a bunch on licenses to even be allowed to do it which kinda sucks but also makes sense because we used to have a lot of problems with fly tipping and shady dealers selling stolen scrap.
lol is why i take a place that is a real recycler
they melt down/take apart everything economically friendly and harvest the metals and components
what i do is mostly find people getting rid of stuff and get it, then sort through it into resell piles and recycling piles with areas for batteries, copper, RAM, motherboards, logic boards, etc etc. and after it’s sorted i bring it to the recycler and they pay me for each type of item
and the parts for reselling i will ebay or whatever
generally i dont get anything new enough to bother reselling though. or valuable enough

yeah but in our case it is required to have a license to even collect things for recycling and be able be allowed to sell it to a dealer which also has to be licensed. Pretty much the council has to have a record of everything taking place in the recycling market and that is specific to the local area as well, you need a new license for every area. we do love our heavy regulation and bureaucracy over here.
