The Lounge 0001 [From the Beginning]

nothing but BS im guessing

Short version, the new internet regulation allows for Throttling, Blocking, Caps, and Fast lanes as long as the ISPs disclose it.

define disclose

them attempting to call me at midnight might be enough to qualify

No. More like Fine Print.

@wolfleben sorry if this counts as a legal question but im curious. What was removed from NN? was the entire thing gutted, was just the consumer protections removed, etc.

I have been checking out Looking Glass again and there have been a ton of bug fixes and changes. Most notably the issue with the black lines across the screen has been resolved which made playing games difficult especially in “fullscreen” mode. I decided to play The Division this time in the Dark Zone as its a much faster paced and demanding game than I’ve tried before with Looking Glass to see how well it held up and I have it say its amazing, I can hardly tell the difference between it and the output from my 2nd monitor and seriously considering switching the input back to Linux and using the VM exclusively with Looking Glass.

well except the fact that my install of it is broken kek

It’s not really counted as legal advice if that’s what you are worried about.

Here is the deal:

Title II is done. The Internet will be ruled by the market or ISPs. It will not be regulated by Title I.
Title I is much weaker. As a result we are likely to see a repeat of court cases we saw before Title II.

Cell Phone Networks have free reign to do what they want.

The FCC will no longer be involved with the internet or phone internet.

The FTC will govern the internet. The FTC can’t do as much.

Throttling, blocking, and caps are all okay as long as the ISPs disclose them. This is terrible.

The ISPs can give disclosure but The FCC is not going to pay attention.

The Conduct Rules are gone. The Conduct Rules prevented the ISPs from blocking, throttle, and creating fast lanes. Those are gone now.

This is what the FCC released:

I quit my Destiny 2 Clan. The game doesn’t respect the time I spend playing it/reward me. So I’m moving on to playing games in my backlog. Like Dishonored 2.
