fair point, right now I’m thinking of waiting for the first stable build before I try it again. didn’t work so great and had issues with my 970.

Eh, all my laptops are u-code i5’s. I don’t have a problem with them, but that said, I don’t really do a ton of intensive stuff on those. I offload that to my Ryzen.

Rule of thumb: Don’t let your laptop sit on carpet while you install gentoo. Get that shit in your icebox.

nah. like @TheDiddilyHorror said. I basically had to overclock the fan to keep the laptop from overheating. Killed the fan
