That would be my dream laptop right there.
You mean the LG gram?
no. pure battery. a laptop the size of a thinkpad but with just a massive amount of performance
Yeah it has a 10hr battery.
yeah so sorta like the perfect workstation laptop, nothing but performance and battery to get shit done on the go? I’m sure there are already some laptops similar to this in the enterprise but they tend to be a lot thicker also.
The 2017 X1 Carbon has absolutely phenomenal battery life if you’re not doing anything harder than streaming video or music over wifi. 10-12 hours with that kind of workload. Sitting on a plane with the radios turned off, the brightness turned all the way down and just using it for word processing like Openoffice, I was pulling an estimated 20+ hours fully charged. I tested this flying to and from Japan. The trip there was 21 hours worth of travel time end to end and though I only used it maybe half of the travel time on the flights, between charging it at home before going to the airport and arriving where I was staying, i still had about 40-50% left on the battery.
But that’s not a gaming workload, so…
ye. im talking something that i run some lighter games on and still get amazing battery. I wouldnt care if it weighed 5lbs XD
Yeah, the RBS (Razer Blade Stealth) running Solus with TLP, I get a solid 6 hours doing code development. Brightness at half, wifi and bluetooth on.
royal bank of scotland?
se edit
Kek Im sure all the accountants at RBS have those XD
Thing with the newer ultrabooks like the X1 lineup is that they charge over Type C, so it’s not an all-in-1 solution but you can have a gigantic battery bank with a 15v/2A output and plug it in from your backpack when you need it.
The power circuitry on these things will even trickle-charge the batteries using 5v if the laptop is asleep or off. USB-PD is fantastic.
I was thinking whether it would be possible to mod something for my laptop so I could charge the battery with my powerbank. Haven’t looked too much into it through
would have to take your charger apart and build something yourself
Ye that was kinda the plan XD
I’m trying to diagnose a phantom on the network.
someone being sneaky or just a rouge device?
You’d need a step-up/down boost converter that can handle the current and dissipate the heat.
this HP printer, when it is connected to the network will try to keep printing an image from last week. Over and over. Once disconnected from the network, it stops.
