imo UPlay isn’t nearly as bad as Origin and Ubi do actually have some decent games that I like such as the Division when they cleaned it up.
Yep. Ubisoft has been doing fairly well compared to their past selves meanwhile EA just fucks whales
Uplay = want to make money, and deliver good game.
EA = want to make just money
I’m imaging a fat white guy fucking a narwhal and going “aroooooooooo”
I think we know who is riding who here
First it takes them almost 15 years to officially announce/confirm Beyond Good and Evil 2, then they completely change the gameplay and setting. Go suck a dick, Ubi.
And just doing fairly well compared to the shit they did over the years is not enough in my book. Same with EA and WB (if they ever try to redeem their reputation).
I don’t even want to imagine how unwieldy the linux kernel will be by then, I hope some micro kernel project comes around and replaces it by then.
they arent much higher
You can’t argue with that optane doesn’t have more performance but I agree it makes no sense over NVMe right now given its price per gigabyte and not much difference in the real world, maybe in a couple of years we’ll see better adoption with higher capacity drives.
We won’t need any of that stuff by then. Everyone will be biotechnically altered at birth and learning how to program and manipulate your body’s software will be part of parenting like learning how to tie your shoes.
I feel like Optane was intels plan for a while, hinging on the hope that SSD’s didn’t become a thing. But then it didn’t, and so to continue the project due to sunk cost they shipped it.
seems plausible, I wouldn’t be surprise at all by this given Intels record with previous failed projects.
Get the fuck up and do the dishes already
What optane needs is for it to be a cheap ram addon
I could get behind that, having cheap fast non volatile storage as a type of ram disk or swap could be amazing especially for intensive workstation applications that need a ton of memory and Optanes low latency would be a huge advantage for it in this application.
My take on something like this would be a student that does a lot of 3d rendering and needs the memory but can’t necessarily afford it, Optane would make sense for this as it has the capacity at a much lower cost and its non volatile so could be used for other things.
