By moderately new I just mean so it has a SPDIF input or other digital input. As they only really added them universally as HDMI became a thing. Not that ones before that dont have digital inputs but its less likely.
And speakers are whatever you find a good deal on or happen to like.
For example; I have an Onkyo receiver/amp thing from Iirc 2010 that has a bunch of HDMI inputs, a digital audio input, and a bunch of speaker connections for up to 7.1 surround.
And paired with it is two studio/concert grade Bose Model 31s from 20 years ago because thats when Bose was actually good lol. And a little center speaker from some decent brand I cant remember for center noise.
All in all its an epic surround setup for what would cost currently around $300-400 depending on where you got the parts.
DOOM on it is epic
Because that soundtrack and the guns at volumes that literally shake photos off of walls but still have clean sound is epic lmao
Last time I looked a pair of the model 31s was going for $100 plus (between $50 and 100 for shipping depending on where you are) in decent condition on eBay. Mine are in good condition so probably are a bit more but not much.
Then again Iāll have to check and see what drivers my uncle supposedly put in them to replace the stock ones, which were getting tired at some point when he owned them. Iām not 100% sure if he just replaced them or put in entirely different ones but hes much more of an audio phile than me lolā¦ I just know enough to know generally whats good and bad.
But still replacing the drivers is super easy and you can make really good speakers yourself if you know how to do it. And for a good price.
The repair kit costs ~$24 on Amazon xD
Why the hell are accessories so fucking expensive? New original earpads? 50ā¬ New original headphone cable? 20ā¬
I totally forgot how much I got into speakers at one point lolā¦ Building them is fairly straightforward, just requires some basic math to figure out how big of a box you should build for certain types of speakers. Like bass ones are certain dimensions, guitar ones are different, music speakers are also different. And the size of the speaker also changes the size of the box it needs to be in.
Amd the various parts for speakers are easy to find and are a lot cheaper than buying the speakers with them in it generally. So if you have the time building your own is most definitely worth it.
Also lol they are a couple years older than I am
Makes sense though as my uncle bought them for when he was a DJ in college so thats about the right time period
yep its a remarkable difference since when I started using Linux when there were almost no games at all. developer support now is good but it isnāt enough and can be much better.
Yep thats another thing that will hopefully be resolved with time. Linux on the desktop has had huge improvements in user experience since the early days. Maybe its still a little rough around the edges though.
Currently I could use linux however the work Id need to put in to get everything working is too much for me to consider it.
Iāll happily use it on laptops and servers, etc but isnt going to be my main until I can fairly easily play all the games I do now on windows
The fact that Ubisoft and the like make horrible ports to windows, let alone Linux doesnt help either rofl
yea always seems to be gaming that is holding people back to Windows the most. has been some fairly decent ports of games to Linux mostly by feral interactive but sadly most studios either choose not to or do a very bad job of it.
With how little the CEO thinks about PC gamersā¦well.
I kinda feel bad for the devs, but fuck Ubisoft, EA and all those other ābigā publishers who fuck up the gaming industry.
yep. I mean right now Iām mostly fine with just playing indie games. They are generally much better games and donāt have to deal with any of the BS.
Theyāre actually giving people a reason to pirate their games with the crippling DRMs.
Adding to the problem, then complaining about the problem.
Not so smart.
